Wii Sports Review

Sure, it’s the game everyone has because they’ve decided to pack it in with every Wii system sold, but it won’t always be like that. Some day soon gamers will ...

Overall, the game really could have been better had they made these full fledged games and jazzed them up a bit. Still, it’s more fun than many of the other sports games I’ve played over the past couple of years and when they decide to make a...

In the Before Time -- the Long, Long Ago -- gaming consoles had a launch title packed in with the system to really show off the new system's capabilities. Many of you may be too young to remember August 1991 (if you were even alive then... man, now I...

Packed in with each new Wii console is the game Wii Sports, which is designed to not only give value to the package, but also introduce the new control scheme Nintendo has centered its new console around.

Not only does the Wii come with just one remote and nunchuk, those two items are sold separately from each other and as such even further purchases are required in order to get what Nintendo is trying to do with Wii Sports – get more people playing....

Wii Sports isn't the most spectacular game available at the Wii launch. If some of the sports could have been longer or if there were more of them it would have been better. But as it stands, it's a quality free game that comes with the system. You...

That's not to say it's fair to compare the two games directly against each other, because it's not. We live in a totally different era now, where gamers are fortunate to get any kind of pack-in game at all with a new system. It was much more...

With the exception of Boxing, which was disappointing almost immediately (aside from the joy of KO’ing an opponent), my first few hours with Wii Sports trying out the different games were some of the most fun I’ve had while gaming in a long time. Each...

Nintendo's family-friendly sports package is the best money you won't spend this year.

Simple controls and intuitive use of the Wii Remote make this the perfect introduction to the Wii for gaming neophytes; really shines in multiplayer

Boxing controls are sloppy; graphics are functional, but very basic

Wii Sports review

Wii Sports made its inaugural debut at E3 2006 when Nintendo President Satoru Iwata, legendary developer Shigeru Miyamoto and PR rock star Reggie took to the stage to play a friendly game of tennis on their new Wii home console. Nintendo had said at...

If you were looking at Wii Sports as the Wii's demo showcase, you're probably going to be happy with what you find. Nintendo did a good job of fleshing out these simple games to make them feel like a full game. More importantly though, Wii Sports shows...

Wii Sports Wii Review

Aching limbs and video games meet in a simple and innovative sports game.

Despite these two solo modes, Wii Sports is really all about getting some friends together and playing a few matches of tennis or bowling. The game isn't designed to be a true authentic sports simulation, it's all about the sheer entertainment value,...
