Worms: A Space Oddity (Wii)

It's hard to believe that the Worms series began well over a decade ago, but its popularity has seen the games appear across most of the major gaming platforms since. Worms: A Space Oddity brings most of the fun of worm-battling to the Nintendo Wii,...

In fairness, most of my issues were not with the game itself, but with technology wrapped around it. Team17 needs to spend more time with their Wii development kit to works out the title's menu kinks and add some saving dialog or a save button. As for...

Worms: A Space Oddity

Worms is one of the most unsung franchises in video games, featuring cute cartoon worms blowing each other up with absurd cartoon weapons. It was somewhere between the classics Scorched Earth, and Looney Tunes. By far an innovator in cartoon violence,...

Wii Remote mechanics actually make the grade here, and improve the feel of the combat ; The test shot feature really aids new players

Camera movement is broken ; No online multiplayer

This is a great entry in one of my favorite series. It is good to see that developers have shied away from the 3-D realm and decided to keep the series in its roots. Faults and all this is still stupid fun for you and a few friends.

I thought I knew what to expect when I first played Worms: A Space Oddity for the Wii. Take a team of worms, throw in some serious (and not-so-serious) firepower, add an opposing team of similarly homicidal worms, and let nature take its course, right?...

Those vicious Worms make their Wii debut with a moderately entertaining outing...

Entertaining use of Wii Remote ; Worms is still plenty of fun ; Fun mini-games

Controls can be a little twitchy ; Poor presentation ; Little beyond the four-player mode, no Wi-Fi

An entertaining take on the traditional Worms format, A Space Oddity provides plenty of fun for fans looking for something a little different and casual Wii newcomers alike. Still, like Open Warfare before it there's plenty of room for improvement and...

Worms: A Space Oddity

Try and wiggle your way out of this one

Huge explosions ; Creative weapons ; Good on paper

Controls don't work ; Explosions are too big ; Too reliant on luck

It's not even like you get a decent game of Worms as a reward for persevering with it - the decision to substantially increase the range of the explosions is a disaster. Games rarely last more than a few minutes, and while Worms is already reliant on...

great introduction to Worms for new fans, not so much for the old timers.

If you find yourself bored with the initial map selection in multiplayer you can also opt to create your own maps, something done with ease when it comes to the Wii controller. You can save up to 16 maps at a time, and you can even customize your...

Team 17 chopped a bit off, and unfortunately it looks like it hasn't grown back...

Not the best Worms title we’ve played, but it’s still very playable and the Wii Remote adds a new dimension.
