WWII Aces (Wii)

One of the benefits of the Wii's unique design is the potential for innovative control schemes to introduce new ways of playing games that belong to traditional genres. Unfortunately, for every inventive Wii game, there are a number of shoddy,...

Got $40? Got a friend? Then you're cleared for take-off

Co-op single-player ; Co-op multiplayer ; Intuitive control schemes

Remote-only flying ; Repetitiveness ; Bland versus mode

WWII Aces is a decent title that is meant to be played cooperatively. So long as you have another friend close by, the $40 shouldn't sting your wallet too much.

WWII Aces (2008) on Wii

Stick with the game and you might be able to squeeze a little more enjoyment out of it, but you really have to struggle to like it. The game might not be a real looker in its visuals, but it does at least give off a nice satisfying "kablooey" when the...

It's about as fun as the war really was.

Great Game for the right player.

This is a great game if you like a simple interface to fly a plane and shoot a limited types of targets. There is no earning various additional weapons that you would need to keep track of and select from. If you like a nice brain dead fly and shoot...

Not complex. Lack of complexity is best feature. Can be played with just the controller without nunchuck. Just shoot down planes with the machine gun (rockets after earning spec ops plane) and bomb tanks/subs

Not enough different missions. Many missions are minor variants. If you are a heavy duty gamer, you will find the game lame

Fun for me and my 6yr old!

This game is certainly difficult to get the hang of, initially. I only fly, now, in Control Layout 2 (not the default), which uses the knunchuk as a yoke. It's more fun to fly the campaigns when you have help. My 6yr old makes a great wingman, and my...

Dogfight mode lets you fight head-to-head or against computer in any of the supported planes

Difficult to get the hang of, at first

A Nazi campaign, really?

The game has no American or Japanese planes, which seems like a big oversight to me. More disturbing, however, is that it gives me the option to take Nazi planes on campaign to take over Poland. What were the designers thinking?? What sane person wants...

The game is fun and controls are easy to understand

Too few plane choices, impossibly hard missions, and role-playing as Nazis
