Scribblenauts Unlimited Review

Scribblenauts Unlimited continues the franchise's penchant for ridiculousness, though lackluster puzzles temper the excitement.

Thousands of objects and creatures to experiment with ; Bonus objectives provide puzzling questions ; Creation tools allow even more imaginative offerings

Standard puzzles are easy ; Logical solutions aren't always accepted

Sadly, as entertaining as Scribblenauts Unlimited can be, it doesn't reach its full potential. It's ultimately your duty to provide the fun because the included puzzles rarely test your skills, and though the extreme flexibility means it's inherently...

Scribblenauts Unlimited Review: Still Not Quite Living Up To Its Potential

5th Cell's most ambitious wordsmith adventure yet suffers from simplistic puzzles.

Scribblenauts Unlimited

Developer 5th Cell brings its groundbreaking series to the Wii U for the first time, offering gamers HD graphics, a large new overworld, extensive creation tools, and a look into Maxwell's magic notebook in Scribblenauts Unlimited. As always, players are

Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure Review

It’s also quite a well made side-scrolling adventure, especially if you love the DC universe. However, I can’t help thinking that if more effort had gone into tweaking character aggression and interactions the resulting product might have been far...

DC characters look good as Scribblenauts renderings; Crisp cartoon art design (played on PC); Some fun moments early on in the game as you experiment; Lots of DC content for fans

Solutions soon become a chore; AI is far too hot or cold ; The game’s logic often doesn’t connect with your own; Characters are as thin and flimsy as their paper-craft animation; No real emergence beyond simple aggression

Scribblenauts Unlimited review – pen pal

A game where the only limitation is your imagination sounds impossible, but it's only the ‘game' part of that description that's in question here.

The object dictionary is immensely impressive and you can spend hours just typing in and trying out words. Playing on a GamePad and TV simultaneously is fun in a crowd

The puzzles are hugely simplistic and require almost no thought, with very little impetus to use your imagination. Very few new ideas

The game’s limitless options and boundless enthusiasm have never been so impressive, but it’s further away than ever from fulfilling its potential as an actual video game.

Scribblenauts Unlimited (Wii U) Review

"Scribblenauts Unlimited" is basically a “big” version of its smaller Nintendo DS offering(s). Transforming a “touch” style game to the console could only be possible on the new Wii U console. In a perfect pairing, "Unlimited" takes advantage of the...

More words, more fun ; Advanced object editor included ; Looks great in HD ; Charming fun with lots of diversity

Puzzle gurus, this ones a walk in the park ; Free-roam navigation feels like a needless addition ; Some detection problems. Not always spot on

Scribblenauts Unlimited breathes some new life into the portable puzzler. Taking advantage of the touch screen of the Wii U, it feels great to play a DS-centric game on the new console. While enough new content has been added, Scribblenauts Unlimited...

Finally, this Wii U version also introduces a two-player co-op experience to the franchise, where a friend can pick up a Wii-mote and play as a sidekick. They can take control of any character that the first player spawns and interact with the scene....
