Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot 890L

The Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot 890L seeks to repeat the success of the carrier's sickeningly fast $49.99 Jetpack MiFi 4620L. And with the ability to support up to 10 devices, global connectivity and a lower price of just $19.99, it would...

Verizon Jetpack 890L mobile hotspot review

"I think I can rip out this review in 20 minutes," I told David Pierce, our Reviews Editor, after having used Verizon's Jetpack 890L on and off for a couple of weeks. I was joking, but not really. ...

Excellent power button ; Fast speeds ; Global roaming support

Poorly designed on-device UI ; No USB tethering support ; Slightly bulky for battery size ; Occasional data hiccups

Why does this exist? I don't know

Verizon Wireless Jetpack 890L 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot Review

Compared to the Jetpack MiFi 4620L mobile hotspot we just reviewed at the beginning of May, this 890L 4G LTE model isn't all that unique. It connects to Verizon 's 4G LTE network just as well as the 4620, has a similar lovely little display for you to...

Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot 890L

The Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot 890L is great for getting your devices online here and abroad, but it isn't the best option available.

World modem. Fast 4G speeds. Good battery life. Interactive status display

No MicroSD card slot. Dim display. Tricky navigation controls

Like most hotspots, the 890L is simple to use. Turn it on, wait 30 seconds or so for it to connect to Verizon's network, then connect to the modem as you would with any other wireless connection, and you're ready to go. It automatically appears in your...

Verizon Wireless Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot 890L review

The Verizon Wireless Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot 890L is the second of the two Jetpack routers the company unveiled back at CES 2012 , the other being the excellently rated Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot MiFi 4620L by Novatel Wireless . Coming out...

The Verizon Wireless Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot 890L is good-looking, well-designed, and offers a very fast 4G connection to up to 10 Wi-Fi devices. The router is also affordable for those willing to sign a new contract.

The Verizon Wireless Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot 890L is comparatively bulky and has relatively short battery life for its size. It comes with limited and expensive data plans.

The Verizon Wireless Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot 890L is one of the best choices for travelers who can afford Verizon's limited and expensive data plans.

Verizon Jetpack 890L 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot review

A capable mobile hotspot that works around the world

Works internationally ; 4G LTE speeds ; Works with up to 10 devices simultaneously

No unlimited data options ; The UI is confusing ; Disappointing battery life ; Bulky ; Confusing price structure ; No microSD card slot

If you need a reliable Wi-Fi hotspot that's super fast in the States but also works in more than 200 countries you'll no doubt be pleased with the Jetpack 890L 4G LTE. Of course, the lack of an unlimited data option may be a deal-breaker for many power...

"Do not waste your time with this product!!!!"

I spent days trying resolve issues around this product. When calling for support I kept getting sent from company to company, each one blaming the other for the problem. Tech support at Verizon finally discovered that there were a lot of customers...

It works on some sites.

Wouldn't let me sign in to the site that I needed to pay my bill or to several other sites with SSL protection. Tech support was sketchy in knowing and then following up on the problem.

"Disconnects CONSTANTLY!! - Slam dunk it into the Trash!"

Maybe somthing from Sierra Wireless? The Novatels pretty bad too, but this is even worse!

Looks nice.

Every 30 minutes the network side will disconnect. would be bad enough if you could log into the browser and hit connect, but that invariably fails. You then have to pull it down, yank the battery, and reboot. FW update button connects to NOTHING!

"it can be better"

1. Horrible display - Impossible to see screen in daylight. 2. Does not hold an internet connection more than 10 minutes. 3. Plug does not stay in. 4. design is not cool One day, i use this device to have a vedio meeting, but it suddenly disconnect in...

i don't like this one because bad experience happened to me when using it.

i had used this unit and also huawei E589 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot, perhaps i'm more familiar with HUAWEI System, the HUAWEI E589 4G Hotspot is more user-friendly than 890L. Regarding the speed, HUAWEI E589 could support higher speed.
