Dead Rising 3

Since the dawn of time, man has essentially held the holy grail of ultimate power at his fingertips. While many have used it for good, there are those that have used it for evil. That power – or maybe ‘art' is a more appropriate word – is the power of...

Dead Rising 3 review

Dead Rising 3 returns players to the zombie apocalypse on next-gen

Zombie Apocalypse ; Amusing weapons ; Genuinely frightening at times

…genuinely stupid at others ; Rubbish boss battles ; Inconsistent tone

Dead Rising 3

It doesn't really look next-gen, but there are lots and lots of zombies. Brrraaains!

Zombie-slaying on a massive scale ; Brilliant combo weapons and vehicles ; Plenty to do

Managing your limited inventory is a chore ; Missions are dull and lack interest ; Graphics aren’t up to next-gen scratch

Dead Rising 3 ups the scale and volume of the slapstick zombie slaughter, but there are too many minor irritations for it to stand up as a great game. The graphics aren’t particularly impressive, the storyline missions are forgettable and managing your...

Dead Rising 3 review

More serious and yet more stupid at the same time, Dead Rising 3 has more zombies (and more ways to dispatch zombies) than ever before

Zombies swarm in their hundreds ; Hilarious weapon and vehicle combinations ; Next-gen SmartGlass and matchmaking

Repetitive and tough boss battles ; Ropey framerate and only 720p

Dead Rising’s crazy weapon combinations and vehicles of mass undead destruction prove killing zombies can still be fun

Dead Rising 3 Review

From a technical standpoint, Dead Rising 3 is not the pinnacle of how a next-gen game should look (or perform), but from an expanded gameplay perspective, and one of pure fun, it’s my favourite launch title among the lot...

Massive open-world with meaningful interiors; Weapon and vehicle customisation and creation is awesome; Thousands and thousands of zombies to burn through however you see fit; The collectable and exploration side of the game are huge amounts of fun;...

The game hitches in performance often because of unmet goals; Companion app is a pain to get working; Depending on the game-mode, psychopaths and tougher zombies are still a bit too easy

Dead Rising 3 review

Welcome to the next-generation of bashing zombies.

Dead Rising 3 is clearly one of the standout Xbox One launch games, but isn’t without its problems. I’m not thrilled with the map design, it’s got repetition issues and some of the boss fights are disastrous, but Dead Rising fans know to expect that....

Dead Rising 3 Review

Dead, and loving it.

One of the best games to simply mess around in ; The zombie tech is impressive

Normal mode a little too easy ; Narrative and missions missing the spark of Frank West's adventure
