Ace Combat: Assault Horizon

MAKE METAL BLEED' screams the back of the box for Ace Combat: Assault Horizon, and if nothing else, Project Aces' latest crack at ruling the skies with its action-packed flight franchise certainly delivers on that promise. Assault Horizon is quite...

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon has all of the lavish production values of a blockbuster movie, with a fantastic soundtrack and a story that just about manages to keep you engaged. As a package, Assault Horizon ticks all of the boxes and will have...

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Review

The Ace Combat games have always fallen on the arcade side of the air combat genre concentrating on fun rather than authentic simulation. At the same time, realism has always played a big role in the experience what with the immaculately recreated...

It’s impossible to pin it down to just one. The game is just a constant stream of pulse pounding moments.

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Review

With Ace Combat: Assault Horizon, a respected series takes a nose-dive.

Online play is fun ; Lots of explosive audiovisual spectacle ; Impressive re-creation of real-world geography

Dogfights require little skill ; Chopper missions require little skill ; On-rail missions are long and boring ; The entire game is all flash, no substance

But games aren't just meant to be seen; they're meant to be played. And Assault Horizon falls quickly into a rut because its entertainment value lies solely in the production elements. The gameplay? Hollow and repetitive. Everything has been reduced to...

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon

Players fly into the future of a brave new world, as the richly detailed (but wholly unfriendly) skies of Namco's Ace Combat return to Xbox 360. Following the series' proven formula, Assault Horizon combines fast, forgiving, arcade-style flight combat wit

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Xbox 360 Review

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon is a strange title. It's a military aircraft simulator that seems to borrow bits from other games like Call of Duty to create an experience that shifts from one genre to the next. Does that truly make it the game it claims...

Cinematic presentation is fantastic ; Camera angles that would make Stanley Kubrick proud ; Awesome soundtrack ; Immense fun to play ; Try’s its hands at many things and succeeds in all of them ; Looks gorgeous when at a few thousand feet

but doesn’t when down near ground level ; The story is a little too clichéd to be enjoyable ; Mission lengths variation to great (either too long or too short) ; It still might not be enough to swing long time non-fans

Ace Combat Assault Horizon ? Review

It has been a little while since an Ace Combat title has graced the consoles and the development team over at Namco Bandai decided to go a different route with this one.? The setting is on Earth as you fly over locations all over the world ranging from...

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon

AJ avoids having to review Dark Souls by reviewing the latest in the Ace Combat series, thus proving once and for all that he is, in fact, too old for this shit.

Typical Ace Combat over-the-top flight action ; Real world locations with a real world plot (at long last!) ; Varied and interesting missions (including helicopter and gunner missions) ; In game action cinematics although forced are still pretty cool ;...

The game cheats....often ; The second half of the game doesn't live up to the excitement of the first half ; An F-16 simply cannot carry 150 missiles. It's just absurd ; The Breakfast Club ending

Ace Combat : Assault Horizons excels at what Ace Combat always promises. Action packed flying with a dose of drama and light on the realism. Whilst this edition has a slightly more realistic setting, the gameplay is as absurdly over the top as it has...

I love the Ace Combat series and flight simulators. So when this one came out I had to have it. I love the fact that you can fly helicopters in this game and that you can create unique paint schemes for your planes.About me... Frequent player
