Bulletstorm (Xbox 360)

Sci-fi first-person shooter Bulletstorm is a celebration of adolescent crassness. It is neither artful nor sophisticated, proudly wearing strings of obscenities as a badge of dishonor. Subtle it isn't; entertaining, it is. Where the meatheaded...

People Can Fly is a Polish developer with a relatively short resume. In 2004, they came out withPainkiller, which was and is one of the most straightforward shooters ever: you're in hell and you want out, so you'd better kill everything you see....

As a sequel to Painkiller, spiritual or otherwise, Bulletstorm is a disappointment. The best way to approach it, if you played Painkiller, is to forget there's a link between the two games at all. Instead, take Bulletstorm for what it is: a ridiculous...

It's a murder party, starring me!” a line spoken by Bulletstorm's main protagonist Grayson Hunt, is easily the best way to describe the absurdity that is Bulletstorm. Bulletstorm tried from the beginning to separate itself from a FPS genre that is...

It's official, FPSs have taken over the world. With their quick reward schemes, feel good accomplishments, and the knowledge that you're simply better than others (or maybe worse), it's no wonder but they are becoming a tad stale. A standardized...

Review: Bulletstorm

The entire marketing push behind Bulletstorm has been emphasizing the idea of how boring military shooters have become. In fact Epic even released a PC game, Duty Calls, that tried to drive home the mundane nature of these titles. It featured little...

In partnership with Epic games and People Can Fly comes the new IP Bulletstorm. The tag-line to sell the game is to “kill with skill”, but is the game r [...]

While the biggest thing in Bulletstorm is the skill shots and asking players to think more about how to kill someone for points can get tiresome quickly for some players who are traditional in their style of play in FPS games.

Bulletstorm Review

Brash, juvenile, intense, and violent, Bulletstorm surpasses the hype in some ways while failing to live up to it in others.

Skillshots reward players for creativity, brazenly vicious action, arcade-style Echoes mode, and imaginative environments

Unfulfilling climaxes, thin multiplayer, claustrophobic levels

The planet of Stygia is a detailed one, and the sweeping vistas and expansive set pieces border on incredible. Even the voice acting is done well and superb.

The trainer for Bulletstorm is one of the best of the year so far, and a must have for anyone looking to get even more out of one of the year's best games.

Bulletstorm

2011 has already started off to be a pretty special year in the video game industry with no signs of slowing down. Today we are checking out a game

For all that I have said about Bulletstorm thus far I can wrap it up by saying that Bulletstorm is flat out good game. Although not the cream of the crop Bulletstorm has enough going for it that if you’re a fan of the genre its definitely worth a look.

I can admit when I'm wrong. Before the Bulletstorm demo released on Xbox Live and the Playstation Network, I was pretty harsh in my criticisms.

Skillshots encourage creativity ; Characters are surprisingly interesting ; Great feeling of scale

Scarcity of charge ammo ; No cover system ; No cooperative campaign
