Cars: Mater-National

After the first Cars brand became the #2 best-selling video game franchise of 2006, a follow-up to the game was a no-brainer. While Cars Mater-National doesn't add much to the franchise from a gameplay perspective, it's another solid title that should...

A ton of races and other events to compete in ; Some interesting gameplay modes

Virtually no enhancements gameplay-wise over the first Cars game ; The graphics are virtually unchanged from the Xbox 360 version of Cars, and Tailfin Pass in particular looks bad with flat-textured trees, washed out colors, etc

Cars Mater-National feels like more of an expansion pack than a true sequel, but it will of course (and already has) sell another bajillion copies for THQ. That being said, fans of the movie that haven't had enough of Lightning McQueen and friends yet...

As a huge lover of Pixar, I have to say that Cars is probably my least favorite film they've produced. Oh, it's still good, mind you, but it struck me as being far more gimmicky, far less layered, and having far less emotional impact than virtually...

Presentation does a great job of replicating the look and feel of the movie

Graphically underwhelming ; Numerous questionable, poorly implemented and often conflicting design choices

Cars: Mater-National is a decent racing game that will probably satisfy fans of the film, but it’s also flawed in numerous ways that make it difficult to recommend over the countless better racers out there.

It comes to something in this industry when a videogame moves on so very little as to require no change of tagline when reviewed. Twelve short months ago, Ryan King's imposing fingers tapped out the above Gary Numan reference, full of rage and...

What can we say? Simply put, this is cynical, poorly play-tested nonsense that's seriously due an MOT. Geddit?

A game that grabs you

Fasted paced fighting action entering the game, it is user friendly with up front directions no need to wander around wondering where to start. Having played this game, I must admit the single player game mode and missions are very challenging and ...

Challenging game play and exciting missions

On-line game play is lacking
