Captain Smiley is my new favorite hero. Comedy is one of the harder roads to traverse when it comes to gaming. Very few people manage to get it right, and...

Absolutely hilarious ; Superb level designs ; Fantastic voice acting ; Excellent writing

Some frustrating sections ; Giant dinosaur skeleton

Comedy is one of the harder roads to traverse when it comes to gaming. Very few people manage to get it right, and even fewer manage to make it genuinely funny. Twisted Pixel’s latest game nails just about every aspect of the art by creating some truly...

Comic Jumper: The Adventures Of Captain Smiley

Comic Jumper: The Adventures Of Captain Smiley is one of those games where the concept (and title) are bigger than the gameplay. Essentially an arcade style side-scrolling action game, there's quite a bit of backstory. Developer Twisted Pixel (The Maw,...

Solid gameplay ; Decent extras to extend the gameplay ; Funny

Repetition of gameplay that has some odd pacing at times ; Humor can border on offensive at times, and not quite satire

A solid download and fun to play.

No worries, I'll probably get it when it goes on sale. Now I just need to know wether to get Super Mea t Boy or Costume Quest. Post a Comment

Comic Jumper is an idea that, when executed, becomes something far less great than its conception. It's a game that had to have sounded amazing in the planning room, but the finished product is just a disappointment that becomes a tedious experience.

Twisted Pixel delivers big fun and big laughs in this varied, comic-book-themed side-scrolling shooter.

Simple but challenging gameplay with a good amount of variety ; Great concept, memorable lead characters, and hilarious dialogue ; Strong comic book visuals and sound design ; Good assortment of extras

Momentum sometimes falters ; A few sections can get frustrating

There are some very good extras on offer in addition to the 11 levels of the core game. A series of very tough challenges give you the chance to earn more money by completing difficult sections without getting hit once. And the money you earn from both...

I’ve always been a huge comic book fan. It wouldn’t take you long looking at either my desk or my living room to notice just how many comics and action figures populate the vicinity. While comics have had a fairly recent surge in popularity thanks to...
