If ever there was a game that deserves the word plagiarism on the back of the box as a bullet point it would be Conan. THQ and Nihilistic Software's latest...

Incredibly Deep Combat System ; Great Boss Battles ; Finishing Moves Are Very Satisfying

Conan Doesn't Use Magic ; Main Game Is Very Short ; Combat Is Underused

As far as manly men go, Conan the Barbarian has to rank right up there with the manliest of them. Although Conan has been around since 1932, when writer Robert E. Howard created him for a series of fantasies featured in Weird Tales magazine,...

Unfortunately, all of this carnage is presented in a very lackluster package. While the graphics aren’t horrible, they seem more appropriate for an Xbox 360 launch title than a late 2007 next-gen title. That’s not because of the animation however,...

Conan (Xbox 360)

Conan was made for the God of War treatment. While other games of this type resort to some sort of hocus-pocus to sell their protagonists' inhuman fighting prowess, Robert E. Howard's Cimmerian superman requires no such artifice. Raised amidst war and...

Barbarism must be in vogue, as interest in Conan has resurfaced in the last year. One of the originators of fantasy violence, the bloody franchise has seen many incarnations but none as over-the-top and intense as the interactive adaptation offered by...

Loads of action ; Interactive button sequences well done ; Good length

Lackluster presentation ; Imbalances in the combat system and controls

Barely more than a clone of God of War, Conan manages to differentiate itself with an over-the-top style and mature themes. The action has its ticks, but a hardcore action aficionado will find a lot to like here.

Conan (Xbox 360) Review

Now 75 years old, Conan takes on Kratos.

If you're a huge fan of Howard's hulking Cimmerian and also a big-time action gaming fan, then Conan is probably worth a buy. Though the game is on the short side, the action is fast, furious, and relentless. If you didn't say 'yes' to both those...

The character Conan, the barbarian from Cimmerian, is purely based on the series of Robert E. Howard stories. Some may also vaguely recollect the movie representation (or mention thereof) when Arnold Schwarzenegger portrayed Conan in the 1982 film. Now...

If you remember our E3 coverage you might remember that John and I were both pretty excited about Conan from THQ. Sure the game was a God of War clone but the graphics were great and right now there's not a a game of it's type available on the 360. The...

If ever there was the definition of a rental it would be Conan. Sure there are some nice visuals and some decent game play but the game is too short for the money.

The most obvious way of starting this review would probably be to bring up the old adage "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" and say something about how similar the game is to God of War. Yeah it's similar in many regards, but instead of...

Conan's biggest strength lies in its ability to pull you into the mythos that is Conan. When you're playing it, you really feel like you're controlling an unstoppable bloodthirsty warrior who just wants power, riches and women. Awesome.

Conan (Xbox 360)

There's something about the Conan franchise that brings a smile to my face without fail. The sheer testosterone-fueled, immature male fantasy aspect of it all is certainly worth a chuckle. Conan ...
