de Blob 2 (Xbox 360) Review

Blob offers a lot of colorful visuals, but find out if it offers anything else inside.

de Blob 2 surprised me on many levels. The game deals with some heavy issues for being a kids game, and the colorful graphics are nicely done. However, what may be the biggest surprise to me is the fact that the game kept me entertained and interested...

de Blob 2 Review

In 2008, Australian developer Blue Tongue released de Blob and its titular character showed us you don't have to have muscles to be a strong video game hero. (Hell, you don't even have to have legs.) It also showed us the simple joy that comes from...

Though de Blob 2's music and graphics don't do much to transcend what was previously implemented, thanks to the new powerups, 2D sequences and two player co-op mode, the game as a whole is still a notable improvement. It's amazing how much mileage Blue...

de Blob 2

While I do so enjoy playing through games of dubious quality for shits and giggles (or that is what Webb wants me to think) having a sequel to a Wii-only game is pretty much the last thing I want to turn up on my doorstep – or so I thought. What I...

De Blob is a charming way to pass some time, but a few camera niggles and repetitive levels mar what could have been a superb title. As it is there is still plenty to appreciate here for young and old, plus the characters and cutscenes are good for a...

Great jazz soundtrack ; Colorful environments ; Charming characters

Timed gameplay ; Poor Move integration ; Inconsistent design

The original de Blob is one of those games that if you played it, you have fond memories and wish there were a sequel. If you didn’t, you likely are not aware and, if someone mentioned it, you probably only recall it as that “blob game on the Wii”....

De Blob 2 Review

In living color.

Huge, varied levels, cheery atmosphere, awesome 2D sections, hilarious cut scenes

Troublesome targeting, inflexible save system, co-op mostly throwaway

I'm glad de Blob got a second chance, as I really enjoyed the original and games where you actively make the world better, rather than prevent it from falling into calamity are rare these days. The upbeat atmosphere, colorful levels and absolutely...

de Blob 2

The world of de Blob 2 is a colorful and unique one full of wonderful animations and a ton of personality. There's really nothing else like it in gaming.

As of this writing, there are no cheats available for de Blob 2, but half the fun of the game is found when you're searching for hidden missions and objects...you know, without the clock.

de Blob 2 Review

De Blob 2 has an infectious feel-good vibe, but some frustrations cramp this platformer's funky style.

Restoring color to the world is rewarding ; Great visuals and music create a joyous atmosphere ; Smart, entertaining cutscenes ; Combat is often good simple fun

Failure can result in having to replay long sections or entire levels ; Targeting system can be frustrating when facing diverse groups of enemies ; Some repetitive level design

Controlling Blob is fun, thanks to responsive controls and a mostly great targeting ability that lets Blob stomp switches, enemies, paintbots, and the like with unerring accuracy. Holding down a trigger targets the nearest targetable object, and the...

de Blob 2 Review

This blob's heavy on the charm, light on fun.

Fair warning: de Blob 2 is ruthlessly adorable. The game's frequently hilarious cutscenes have an almost Pixar-like quality to them, and its character designs rival Kirby's Epic Yarn in raw cuteness. Even Blob's fascist oppressors look like they just...
