Deadly Premonition

Unless the only kind of games you play are Madden, and Grand Theft Auto, you will probably find this game well worth the $20.

This game is the perfect example of "so bad that it's good", or in this case, more than good. To truly understand why this game is so great, you have to play it for yourself, and by yourself ; So here are the Pros ; 1. Great sense of humor ; 2. The...

Keep in mind, some of these cons end up being what makes the game so good ; 1. Horrible controls ; 2. Sub-par graphics ; 3. Mission can sometimes be overly-dull ; 4. The Map Is Useless ; 5. The driving is awful, cars will simply not turn for you

game equivalent of B movie

Deadly Premonition is inspired by Twin Peaks, a terminally strange TV show. Having this game written and directed by terminally strange Japanese people makes this game extensively weird and goofy. This is the game's major selling point for me, btw. ...

budget priced title ; over the top quirky Japanese writing/direction ; being intentionally bad is part of its campy b-movie charm ; 1000x the game Heavy Rain is

just about everything about this game is awful. It looks and controls like a lousy Dreamcast game. The game itself is a very poor imitation of Silent Hill and Resident Evil. Strangely, these flaws are what made the game enjoyable for me

Very odd game, I think it knows it is too!

If you want to try something different, odd, and disturning, play this game. For $20, whats the loss?

Man, this game sure has its moments. First thing I noticed was the graphics quality: it's all over the place, sometimes looking awesome to near PS2 quality. The characters, especially the main character York, is a unique one. He talks to his "other"...

Controls aren't the best, but still manageable ; Graphics are outdated, but still look great in some places ; The driving is fun but feels like a poor man's GTA ; Voice work and sounds seem odd or out of place sometimes. Was that the developer's point

Quirky, yet fun

Loving it so far, worth it's price most definitely. Ordered Twin Peaks on DVD just to see the resemblances. Good thriller with a great price.

Humorous, sort of dark, wonder what's going to happen next type of feeling, good characters, very reminiscent of Twin Peaks, good music, throw back survival horror/shenmue type game play

The graphics are just plain hideous, also some of the music can drown out the speech, and the sound effects can be repetitive and annoying. Like when a door squeaks as it opens

An Entertaining Experiment

People have been comparing it to Grand Theft Auto (cars), Silent Hill, Resident Evil 4, and various other titles. Despite comparisons to other games, it stands out on its own as an incredibly original title, faults and all. At least give it a rent, but...

Overall, the game has a lot of faults, but it's pretty much the bravest try at original gameplay in a while. Many are complaining about controls, but they are far less frustrating than any other survival horror game than I've played before this (namely...

The audio is a double-edged sword. It's either so bad or inappropriate it's hilarious, or it's painfully repetitive. Unfortunately, if you turn off the BGM at any point, you lose the audio for the cutscenes (I hate when programmers lump them together...

Not bad...

I would recommend it to any fan of survival horror games and to people who have a LOT of patience.

New survival horror game, these don't come out to often anymore really. Plays a bit like Resident Evil 4 and reminds me of Silent Hill also. Pretty decent game for 20

Controls are a bit wonky, you need to get used to the aiming, graphics are pretty bad for a 360 game. Achievements are all secret and there are only 12 of them. You have to drive around from place to place GTA style and the car controls are pretty...
