Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi

Ultimate Tenkaichi is easily the best looking Dragon Ball Z game I've ever seen. The characters look just like the popular anime series, complete with intense action and all of the characters you've come to know and love. On the surface it looks like...

Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi is an incredible looking game that is marred by one of the worst fighting engines I've ever seen. If you're a fan of lengthy (and unskippable) conversations, fights that go nowhere and button mashing, then this is the...

Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi

The beauty of the combat is chaining combos with screen-prompted button pushes. As you land blows, you build up your ki, which can be used to fuel some pretty devastating moves. Those simple button presses become earth-shattering (in some cases,...

Solid, over-the-top fighting ; Character creator that allows you to bring your own creation into the DBZ world ; Clean, vibrant graphics ; Tons of unlockables

loading ; Story is told in a wordy, boring scroll ; loading ; Generic guitar music ; loading ; Main fighting is reduced to punches and kicks, with no variety until the finishers ; loading ; RIDICULOUS number of loading screens

The music is generic and looping, and after ten minutes, the sound of studio guitar will melt your brain. Luckily, the game allows for Custom Soundtracks. It's either that or the mute button.

Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi Review

The battles in Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi look intense and exciting, but dull mechanics prevent the gameplay from channeling any of that excitement.

Visuals capture the over-the-top combat style of the anime

Simple, repetitive fighting mechanics ; Flow of battle often determined by chance rather than skill ; Tedious boss fights that make poor use of quick-time events

The combat certainly captures the intense look of the anime it's based on. Attacks appear to possess incredible power, and stylish camera angles strive to create a sense of impact as characters collide in midair or hit the ground with enough force to...

Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi – Xbox 360 ReviewPosted on November 4, 2011 | No CommentsBalls deep?

It might not deliver that perfect balance fans had been hoping for, and the lack of depth that has so often plagued this series still sullies the game's long term appeal, but despite these issues, Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi is a unique,...

Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi

It's Australian Game policy to send all rubbish games to Sarge, so Barry was quietly optimistic when Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi arrived in the mail. Will he be able to muster the power of all of the dragon balls, or will his balls be caught...

You can make your own DBZ character ; Visual style is perfectly captured from the TV show ; Large open levels give a good feel to the scale of the combat

Everything ; Lackluster combat mechanics ; So many better fighting games currently available

If you are a HUGE fan of the DBZ series and can overlook a vast number of flaws in gameplay and combat mechanics, this may very well be the game for you. However make sure that you have at least one other friend that feels the exact same way, because...
