F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin

Alma's back and this time she's mad. Actually she was pretty pissed the first go around, but she certainly hasn't gotten any happier. F.E.A.R. 2, after a brief prelude, takes up where the original left off: Alma on the loose and the city in ruins....

It's hard to play through Monolith's F.E.A.R. 2 and not get a feeling of d?j? vu. Between F.E.A.R., Condemned, and their sequels, this is the fourth scary, first person game that they've given us in a row, and unfortunately the experiences aren't...

F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin

It is time to fear Alma once again. When the first F.E.A.R. game landed in gamer's hands back in 2005 it was heralded for its intense combat sequences and outstanding...

Excellent single-player campaign ; Solid visuals ; Great control

Multi-player feels predictable ; Minor frame rate hiccups

F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin

This somewhat scary sequel is a solid shooter, but it can't keep pace with its lauded predecessor.

Slow-motion shootouts are good, gory fun ; Mech sequences provide welcome variety ; Some cool, spooky imagery

Story offers little mystery or suspense ; Cliched random scares and level design ; Multiplayer is drab and disappointing

F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin Review for the XBOX360

Ghastly shoot 'em up.

Fantastic graphics; Intelligent AI; Great shooter; Giant robot

but not genuinely terrifying.; Lousy, tacked-on multiplayer; Too easy; And really, shooting ghosts

Alma is back. Does this new adventure stack up to the heavy competition the 360 has to offer? Did the game scare the life out of me? Click here for the full review of F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin.

F.E.A.R 2: Project Origin Review

Monolith returns to continue the creepy saga of Alma in this shooter sequel.

Stylized visuals, creepy look and feel; solid shooter mechanics

Unbalanced, unstable multiplayer; mediocre single player scenarios; inconclusive story

Disappointing multiplayer and an average single player campaign make F.E.A.R. 2 a frightening prospect if you're searching for a fresh shooter. Still, the mechanics are solid and the campaign is appropriately long. While the action sequences are...

(Over)dosing Fear

True to the motto 'better late than never', we bring you the review to 2009's first scary game. Find out inside why this is not just another scary movie.

Though fantastic at times, the occasional framerate dip does tend to make you wonder how much smoother, and therefore better looking, this game could have been.

F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin

FEAR (first encounter assault recon), was a dubious title. Never before had such a forced acronym and such a merging of genres been so...good, at everything it was trying to do. The horror shooter had everything. It had complete pant filling tension,...

Fear 2: Project Origin

If the name Monolith sounds familiar, it should. Project Origin marks the studio's first return to the series they forged after several second-rate expansions from other developers were churned out and critically panned over the past four years. This...

A technically sound FPS ; Great music, acting and surround use ; Alma appearances are always fun

Too many Replica soldiers, not enough unique "other" enemies ; Slow motion can be badly abused ; Multiplayer options are weak

After battling through Replica soldiers, abusing slow motion against Abominations and laying waste with a Power Mech, there's nothing you can do to stop the visions and attacks from Alma until the appropriate time comes. The uncertainty of not knowing...

F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin - Review

It takes a whole lot to scare gamers nowadays. Basing a game around a creepy naked girl, like something out of a Japan horror film, should do the trick, but somehow F.E.A.R. 2 falls a little short in the scares department. Thankfully, it delivers just...

The online portion of the game adds plenty of additional hours to the experience, with six modes and nine maps. The modes are nothing out of the ordinary, with your standard deathmatch, capture the flag, and control point options. Failsafe is something...
