F.E.A.R. Files (Xbox 360)

2005's F.E.A.R. for the PC was an excellent example of how to blend atmospheric horror and even more atmospheric gun battles together to make for a great first-person shooting experience. But when F.E.A.R. debuted on the Xbox 360 a year ago, 360 gamers...

F.E.A.R. Files

This review is effectively superfluous. Everything I feel I really need to say is in this article. However, for the sake of comprehensiveness, here's a more traditional review as well.

More of the same gameplay everyone liked in the original F.E.A.R

Too much of the same ; Outdated graphics ; Released amidst a massive flood of games that are much, much better

F.E.A.R. Files doesn’t do enough to distinguish itself from the original game, and what’s more, it finds itself released at a time when we’ve just received countless other games far more deserving of our attention than a tired rehash.

F.E.A.R. Files

As you’d expect from a F.E.A.R. game, the AI is generally quite good, actively seeking cover, breaking out some melee attacks and throwing grenades whenever prudent. But the AI in both expansions is also surprisingly inconsistent. One enemy will...

F.E.A.R. Files clearly hopes that its multiplayer options will save the day, as Xbox Live multiplayer supports up to 16 players. And let’s face it; gunning down your friends in slow motion seldom gets old. But for a first-person shooter to succeed...

F.E.A.R Files (Xbox 360) Review

The darkness will get you, it gets everybody...

F.E.A.R. Files is a good game, but not one that deserves to be mentioned in the same breath of the original. For an expansion pack, it does its job, but the player will feel like more could have been done to make the expansion packs more worthwhile. ...

F.E.A.R. Files Review

Bad graphics, textures, substandard gaming and a moot storyline brings this two game pack down

Still, anyone who knows about Monolith's upcoming true sequel to the original game and hasn't played at least Extraction Point on the PC should steer away from this release on the 360. It's overpriced and undervalued.

F.E.A.R. Files

Alma bettin’ you’re gonna like this

Still one of the best-looking (and creepiest) shooters on 360.; All-new content

You’ll run through that content in a weekend, which doesn’t exactly justify the $50 price

Why couldn’t Sierra make each campaign downloadable content?

FEAR Files - Xbox 360 review at Thunderbolt Games

What are you afraid of? Ghosts? Death? How about little girls powerful enough to slaughter you with their mind? It's a strange feeling isn't it? Chances are, if you play through this collection of two FEAR expansions, you will get to know that feeling...

F.E.A.R. Files Game Review - Xbox 360

In Greek mythology, Perseus was the hero who killed the gorgon sister Medusa

You played the original and want to know what happens next

2 year old technology is a turnoff for you, or you're too scared

F.E.A.R. Files Review

Enough with the creepy little girls. We get it. They're creepy.

It's a shame, because considering all of the goodies, this should be a good value, but we refuse to pay $49.99 for a game trapped within a time warp. If you need more F.E.A.R. in your life, then by all means, gobble this up. We, on the other hand,...
