Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon

Repeating well-worn clichés isn’t an inherently novel idea. The cliché-ridden ‘80s throwback has become a cliché in itself and is so overdone that it takes something special to stand out. Mostly the videogame homages are in the form of the decade's...

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon’s a well-executed ode to the ‘80s. It delivers more Far Cry and something entirely unique at once, making it worthwhile both as an expansion of the retail package and a potentially exciting off-shoot IP. There is certainly more...

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon

No one saw Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon coming. As a full-on digital-only game that's completely separate from the core experience (and thus, doesn't require Far Cry 3 to play), Blood Dragon takes the foundations of Far Cry, runs with it to the absolute...

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon - X360

Packed with entertaining action and hysterical writing, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is an '80s-inspired blast.

Hysterical dialogue and collectibles ; Lots of smart references to 1980s pop culture ; Taking on blood dragons is always a delight ; Smart levels and missions make for rewarding stealth ; A lot of terrific open-ended action for a great value

A few enemy behavior quirks ; Some crass jokes land with a thud

Blood Dragon isn't just an homage to great memories, however, but a terrific game in its own right. If you played Far Cry 3, you will recognize the structure. Enemy bases are strewn about the island you explore, and by annihilating all of the enemies...

Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon Review

After the divisive Far Cry 2 Ubisoft needed to get Far Cry 3 right, and they did exactly that, gaining a superb 9/10 from ourselves in the process. If Far Cry 3 can be faulted however it's that it's totally lacking in neon, motorcycle-helmet-wearing...

The Predator mission hunting four turtles hiding in the sewers surrounded by pizza boxes, making friends with rats... hang on a tick, that sounds familiar.

Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is an interesting beast. It's a downloadable title only connected to Far Cry 3 by engine, structure, and gameplay. It's also, remarkably for a downloadable title, a fairly robust open-world game. In many ways, it has no reason...

War, like the 1980s, is hell, and if robots suffered from nightmares, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is the dreamscape where they take place. However, if said robots are anything like Rex Powers Colt, they’ll never want to leave - and you won’t either.

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon

2007, the aftermath of Vietnam War 2 and the world is a burning wreck inhabited by a new breed of soldiers – come see what makes Blood Dragon such a blast.

The game is great, the combat is fun and exhilarating. The 80's vibe is amazingly well done and it's a love letter to Terminator and many sci-fi films of that time.

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Xbox 360 Review

Enemies can knock you over. They're dicks like that”. This is just one of the many helpful hints you will receive in the wickedly comedic world of Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.

Open world full of things to do ; Stylish and full of 80's cool ; Manly. Grrr

Difficulty spikes ; No multiplayer/co-op - if thats your thing
