Final Fantasy XIII

Final Fantasy. The RPG series known to millions of gamers worldwide for its long-standing legacy of intricate characters, exceptional storytelling, engaging battle systems and spectacular visuals. Veterans, casual players and many others that do not...

Final Fantasy XIII is an epic game that plays to its strengths by taking risks. It abandons the all-too-predictable towns, forgettable NPCs and typical combat systems seen in far too many RPG titles today. Still taking its flaws into consideration,...

Final Fantasy XIII-2

Ever sinceFinal Fantasy VII was released in North America in 1997, the series has become the archetype of what every RPG should be. This reputation carried across many releases, and when Squaresoft (which subsequently became Square Enix) announced...

The gameplay is practically unchanged from FFXIII. There is a creature in the place of a third human AI, and the Eidolon summons are gone. If you liked the revamped battle system in FFXIII, then you will like it here as well. If you did not...

Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy (3DS) Review

See if the latest Final Fantasy spin-off is worth your purchase inside.

Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy was developed with only fans of the series in mind, and it shows. But, when you build a game around music from only one series, that’s to be expected. What FF fans need to know is that the game is fun, and worth picking up...

Final Fantasy XIII-2 Xbox 360, PS3 Review: a time traveling cinematic event

The latest Final Fantasy epic from Square Enix is here. Brandon reviews this cinematic, time-traveling Japanese RPG.

Overall, Final Fantasy XIII-2 is a solid title. I enjoyed the story (even though it was a bit hard to follow at times) and it was pretty cool seeing how locations varied with each different time period. I loved the battle system in Final Fantasy XIII...

Final Fantasy XIII-2

The use interface and menu system is cool and slick, and the visuals are crisp, clear and at times awe inspiring, if not predictable. The game features a respectable amount of recorded dialogue, but a lot of it comes off as cheesy and overdone.

I'd love to have a cheat for quick leveling up, as it would make it easier to defeat some of the bosses easier. A Pokemon style listing of where to find all of the game's monsters would also be a cool tool to have.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 Review (Xbox 360)

Final Fantasy XIII wasn't received too well by the press nor by fans. In order to try to fix that, Square-Enix set out to not only expand upon what their vision for the future of the series is to be, but repair some of the damage done by recent Final...

The voice acting in the game is impressive

Final Fantasy XIII-2

Final Fantasy XIII was a pretty terrible RPG, which is to say that while it had beautiful graphics, a decent story and some interesting set pieces, it came up lacking in the sense of exploration, subtlety and invention that previous titles in the...

Final Fantasy XIII-2 isn't a full blown return to the classic Final Fantasy games many people know and love, but it is certainly a step in the right direction and offers a great deal more invention, exploration and good, old fashioned fun than its...

Final Fantasy XIII-2 Review

I'm one of those guys who actually liked Final Fantasy XIII. So, sue me. I thought changing up the style and offering a different take on the FF universe was a breath of fresh air. Don't get me wrong...

Great combat system ; Wonderful presentation ; Good voice acting ; Beautiful visuals ; Tons to do and explore

Story drags at times ; Confusion on where to go next may pop up

I’m one of those guys who actually liked Final Fantasy XIII. So, sue me. I thought changing up the style and offering a different take on the FF universe was a breath of fresh air. Don’t get me wrong, I love previous FF games as well. This is why I...

Final Fantasy XIII-2 Review

Saving the world wasn't enough—now time needs to get its ass saved too?

Battle system returns with a few nice tweaks; Monster collection and growth is well done; A return to non-linear exploration

perhaps too non-linear; Convoluted and nonsensical plot

So at the end of the day, I’m going to say what I expected to say when I saw this game in the past, and what you probably expected me to say as well: FFXIII-2 is a lot like FFXIII and will elicit the same kind of divided response within the gaming...

The lastest

But more importantly, this unbound narrative allows the designers to stretch their creative legs. Players jump from Blade Runner dystopias to verdant monster lairs atop overgrown trees. A highpoint finds Serah and Noel at the edge of reality, where an...
