Kinect Star Wars Review

I can understand what Microsoft was trying to go for when it first announced it was doing a Star Wars game exclusively for the Kinect. It wanted to reach out to its casual audience, showing them that its motion accessory wasn't just a one-note gimmick...

Older fans and hardcore enthusiasts should probably pass, but parents with kids could likely find something to enjoy.

If you’re a longtime fan who’s been waiting for a game that’ll let you live out your Star Wars fantasies then the wait is far from over. Kinect Star Wars, with all its control and polish issues, has very limited appeal for an adult audience. Kids will...

Is the Force strong with this one? Or should we pretend it never happened - just like Episode One?

Star Wars on Kinect. Surely a formula that cannot fail…or can it?

Movement recognition issues, pacing flaws and some poor game modes make Kinect Star Wars an ultimately frustrating experience, even though it has its moments.

As a whole, [the game] is a huge disappointment. Whereas the very best Kinect games make you feel empowered - liberated from the confines of a 360 controller - Kinect Star Wars makes you feel shackled to an aggravating control scheme.

Kinect Star Wars is a hodgepodge of ideas that, either through the Kinect's limited functionality or slipshod execution, simply aren't cohesive enough to deliver the Star Wars experience that fans demand. Our advice? Go outside and pick up a stick.

It says a lot that a dancing game is the best thing on offer in this muddled, cynical package. For the most part, Kinect Star Wars feels ill-conceived: kids will be bored, and adults will be embarrassed.
