Madden NFL 12 (Xbox 360)

Few offseason improvements mean that Madden 12 is another fun but flawed entry in the stagnating series.

Some things are inevitable, like walking down the street and seeing your bus sail past the end of the road or finding an amazing bargain and then discovering it just sold out. Rather like the minor niggles of life then, a new Madden has arrived, like...

A fun game with very few major flaws, but by the same token it brings absolutely nothing new to the table other than the welcome online community option and enhanced player traits and consistency. That aside you will be playing the same old Madden and...

EA?s Madden football series has been around so long, John Madden himself still had color in his hair when the first one was released, and he?s been grey for over 20 years. If you?re old enough to have played the first few games of the series as it...

Madden NFL 12

Last night's Saints-Packers contest marked the start of the 2011-12 NFL season, a season that was still very much in doubt just over six weeks ago. EA Sports had maintained all along that a new Madden NFL game would launch this year, regardless of the...

Indeed, Madden NFL 12 is a typical entry in EA's 23-year-old football franchise: Tiburon has lavished attention upon certain facets of the game but has neglected other areas, some of which suffer from long-standing problems. There's a lot to like here,...

Madden NFL 12 is not the greatest football game ever made, but it's definitely not the worst. Fans of the Madden series are sure to enjoy themselves, but others should approach with caution.

Be honest, you already have preconceived notions about this game. That's fine, I get it. After all, it is an annual sports franchise that, for the most part, takes an incremental approach year in and year out. However, last year was no such year with...

Madden NFL 12 Review

This is a solid Madden outing, filled with the usual great strides and a few frustrating setbacks

Collision detection is solid, no suction blocking, run game feels great, parts of franchise mode are better than ever; Peyton Hillis is on the cover and as a lifelong Browns fan that makes me happy, which is rare for a lifelong Browns fan

Abysmal audio presentation, passing game needs work, franchise mode still has some holes, special teams play (the return game specifically) is terrible; too many franchise games played in the rain

The release of Madden NFL 12 has become one of the biggest days of the year for football fans, aside from the start of the season. Local retailers are flooded for midnight launches, and a vacation or sick day is often used to get in precious time with...

Having the final product in your hands will do nothing but net an enjoyable experience for football and Madden fans. Moreso than over, you’ll have to value your possessions and make smart plays on the field if you want to succeed. While Madden NFL 12...

Ever since 1988 when the very first John Madden Football (was shortened to Madden NFL in 1993) was released, the team at EA SPORTS Tiburon have been building game modes, control mechanics, and features to make hardcore football salivate for the yearly...

REVIEW: Locking out your free time

Looks really good, plays even better.; Play-calling is both smart and streamlined for casuals and diehards alike

Slow, annoying menus; stilted commentary

Who thought the new Season Ticket program was a good idea?
