Magic: the Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 Review

Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 presents a welcome improvement over the previous releases.

Magic: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 is easily Stainless Games’ best effort at providing an accessible yet challenging version of Magic to date, and the new decks and improved gameplay are satisfying enough to trump most concerns arising from the new...

Magic the Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012- Xbox 360

Magic: The Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers is extremely fun. Fans of Magic will easily take to the turn-based gameplay and probably start playing online immediately, while newcomers will appreciate the How To Play tutorials as well as the tips...

Magic the Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012- Xbox 360

Archenemy is a neat concept, but one which doesn't quite come off due to balance issues. So while DotP 2012 will provide an engaging distraction, it's unlikely to hold you spellbound.

Magic the Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012- Xbox 360

The gameplay is as tight as ever, though when it comes to deck-building and card selection, there's still a lot of room for the series to grow before it reaches the same level of meticulous depth found in the tabletop game it's based on. Regardless,...

Magic the Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012- Xbox 360

If you've never heard of Magic, Duels 2012 is worth playing if you like games with equal parts strategy and luck. If you have heard of Magic, you should probably download this game unless you have 4 Black Lotuses up your sleeve already.

Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012 provides a way to enjoy a simple game of Magic: the Gathering. Its limited customization options, serious control issues, and lack of extra flair keep it from being as interesting an experience as it could be, but you...

Magic the Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012- Xbox 360

In terms of an introduction to Magic, Duels of the Planeswalkers is brilliant. It's an improvement to the previous game, even though it treads much of the same ground. You can have some great games with friends. But there's a serious glass ceiling here...

Magic the Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012- Xbox 360

If there were more decks and cards, and/or an online league structure to compete in, this could have been a true gem. As it is, it's fun as a solid, but limited, digital adaptation of one of the definitive tabletop games of our generation.
