Mass Effect (Xbox 360)

An excellent story and fun battles make this a universe worth exploring.

I cower behind a metal pillar in some unknown alien city, clinging to my last bit of health as an army of killer alien droids encircle my position, waiting nervously as my healing ability recharges, my slain squad-mates being of little use alive or...

A rough diamond, its charm is difficult to quantify in categorical terms. A worthwhile experience.

Mass Effect Game Review – Like A Bathrobe, Familiar But Pleasant

One of the best games, bar none, that I've played for the Xbox 360 yet is Mass Effect.  Chances are you've had a chance to see this one by now, so I'm not going to be hugely worried about spoilers.

The Best Episode of Star Trek Since The Next Generation

Despite the rough gameplay and idiotic AI, Mass Effect is still a very good experience when taken as a whole. But its problems are such that they prevent the game from living up to its potential. Bioware has clearly succeeded in creating a deep and...

Recently I did two things; I played through Mass Effect and watched the Zero Punctuation review of Mass Effect. If you want a succinct summary of my take on the game, go check it out there, as it's almost spot on with how I feel about the title.

As my editor's choice award shows, I found Mass Effect to be an excellent title, and one of the best games to come out in '07. It's not for everyone, though, and those who can't stand dialogue-heavy games should avoid it like the plague. If you pick up...

Mass Effect - Xbox 360 review at Thunderbolt Games

Bioware's own Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was one of the original Xbox's most well-received games. With lots of dialogue, a solid science fiction story, and a deep role-playing system, it remains a classic title. The developers have since...

A couple years ago, when BioWare bypassed the chance to rework NeverWinter Nights in favor of working on their own RPG project, the Internet erupted with speculation on the nature and type of game the highly-respected developer might have in mind....

One of the biggest pieces of eye candy on ANY next-generation platform this season ; The deepest, most engrossing and epic adventure story being told on any next-generation platform this season ; A wonderfully-immersive dialog system that enhances...

Some sections of the story might drag a bit for pure action fans, but they ought to be playing The Darkness, not Mass Effect ; Some killjoys who skip dialog at every opportunity and bypass every side-quest have been able to finish the game in about 30...

Absolutely - bar none - THE must-own game of 2007 on ANY platform. Mass Effect is damn near perfect!

Mass Effect

Although BioWare has been releasing games for over a decade, their latest is no less than a role-playing tour de force -- it's a testament to a developer in top form, and Mass Effect as a whole pens a significant chapter in the science fiction bible.

Role-players, put your lighters up in the air. This is every bit the sci-fi rock concert it was meant to be, with an unbeatable cast, an impenetrable storyline, and an undeniable gravity making Mass Effect impossible to escape.

Review: Mass Effect

I love sci-fi. I love shooters. I love role playing games. I love Bioware. And for the first hour, I enjoyed Mass Effect and was ready to sing its praises from the highest of rooftops.

Talking It Up

Upon completion of your character creation you will be thrust into one of the two important gameplay mechanics: conversation. Mass Effect is after all a role-playing game and as anyone who has played one knows; conversation plays an important role. ...
