Down by just a point with only 20 seconds left in the game, you take control of Kobe Bryant and begin to size up the inconsistent defender standing a few feet in front of you: Vince Carter. You rhythmically dribble the ball between your legs as your...

Electronic Arts serves up the best NBA title in 2010. (Xbox 360)

The sports genre is a tricky one for developers in today's landscape. Fans of the genre want their yearly installments. Pundits want innovation rather than the typical roster updates. To achieve innovation and changes that warrant a purchase on a...

Squeaky sneakers and shiny new faces

Improved looks ; Dynamic Season mode ; More polished gameplay

Shooting can feel a little slow ; Too much stealing inside the D ; Need online for Dynamic Season

So, while NBA Live 10 is quite decidedly an improvement over the last outing, there's still work to be done before it can call itself the undisputed number one in basketball sims. After all, if they made it perfect, what would they do next year?

Last year NBA Live 09 was a hit or miss by the critics. Some were very disappointed, while others saw this as the series road to recovery. I myself

EA continues to improve there NBA Live franchise and have made one of the best basketball games in the past few years. NBA Live 10 is a great basketball experience for both the casual and hardcore fan and proves to be the series best outing yet.

Basketball is not an easy sport to recreate in a video game. Just making the free-flowing action look natural is hard enough, but when you throw in the monkey wrench of human control it makes it much harder to animate a player that moves both...

sound like some kind of arcade basketball title. It’s not. In fact, it is rife with complexity, most of it constantly bubbling under the surface. If the game is meant to be accessible in its basic playability, it’s also meant for the serious fans when...

Good review, great to see that they're trying to topple 2K. Now if they only had competition for football maybe we'd see similar steps forward

With four weeks left until the playoffs begin, my T-Wolves are in a dead heat for the final playoff seed. This does not go unnoticed to commentators Kevin Harlan and Clark Kellogg, who mention this fact just after tip-off. Halfway through the first...

NBA Live 10

Dynamic DNA seasons are a great addition to the franchise, but NBA Live is not quite a championship contender.

Dynamic DNA makes the Season mode mirror the real thing ; Calling plays is intuitive and rewarding ; One-on-one encounters are challenging because of manual dribbling controls ; Online play is smooth and fun

Glitchy ball physics ; Players are often dumb ; Mediocre commentary
