Project Gotham Racing 4 Reviewed

If your a fan of the Project Gotham series, you wont be disappointed with the latest incarnation of the game. It is by far the best to date.

Rain and snow can seriously affect your driving as the water puddles on the road, and of course snow makes you slide. Hit a puddle and you hydroplane across it, ht an icy section of the road and you slide.

The paradox inherent in a racing title featuring courses that run right through adeptly rendered real-world cities is that you will do poorly if you stop to admire the view.

Right from the starting line, Project Gotham Racing 4 creates an emotionally-charged racing experience, where you become attached to your careers, profiles, and vehicles. There are several new features that embody this emotional experience, the most...

Gentlemen, prepare your calluses. Project Gotham 4 plays to the series' strengths and adds new twists along the way.

Gorgeous environments ; Fun driving model and spot-on control ; Rain effects are the best of the new weather effects ; Buying items with kudos is a nice incentive for driving with style

Motorcycles seem overpowered ; No reason to use underpowered cars in most events

With such an intense level of focus trained on the weather effects in PGR 4, it makes you wonder what the team at Bizarre Creations could do if they threw their hat into the simulation ring and took on the Forzas and Gran Turismos of the world at their...

Project Gotham Racing 4 Xbox 360 Review

So we have now been struck with another of the PGR series and we just have to ask ourselves, as with every sequel, can it be better than the last one? The problem with most sequels is that it doesn't live up to the expectation of the gamers because it...

New multiplayer options ; Motorbikes ; Improved purchase system

Quits game if your xBox Live status changes

I kind of think that is what PGR4 has become; A more mature, cultured and fancier looking racer than its predecessors.

Graphically impressive, beautiful cars, the bikes are a bit of fun

Lost the ‘hoon’ factor, relatively similar to PGR3 doesn't have any Sydney tracks

Overall PGR4 is a solid game. Does it really offer anything new? Not really. Nice cars, decent single player with good replay ability, and definitely some hot looking cars. But I figure most people play games to do things you can’t in reality. And the...

PGR 4 is a hard game to fault. Bizarre Creations have made leaps and bounds since PGR 3 and made a rock solid, fantastic game with plenty of content and hours of gameplay to be had. The dynamic weather system is a fantastic addition to next-gen racing...

Dynamic weather, Kudos, beautiful environments and top notch graphics, entertaining gameplay and awesome selection of cars and bikes, and great multiplayer modes

Bikes not as well balanced as the cars, annoying menu background, occasional graphical hiccups with textures failing to load in time

I find the whole going at speed thing rather cathartic, really. I've spent more time than I care to remember wasting away in the midst of traffic jams or being held up on a dual carriageway by some 40-something divorced woman driving her son the 900...
