Project Sylpheed (Xbox 360)

Project Sylpheed is a short and needlessly complicated space shooter that gets by on its cutscenes more than its gameplay.

Project Sylpheed - Xbox 360 review at Thunderbolt Games

It is the 27th century, and war is beginning. The reason isn't really important actually, it's more of an excuse for explosions, big guns, even bigger spaceships, and some dramatic conflict between close friends turned enemies by the cruel hands of...

Just to bring you up to speed with what's in store for the next 600 years or so: Mankind breaks the boundaries of the solar system in or around the year 2130, sets out across the stars with an imperialist agenda, eventually terraforming planets within...

Project Sylpheed avoids being a button masher by narrow margins, and that’s only because they’ve spread the button mashing out across the entire face and backside of the controller. Clean-lined graphics and coming-of-age melodrama aren’t enough to mask...

A space opera you just might sleep through or walk out on.

Project Sylpheed is a niche game. It will shake off newcomers who are intimidated by its slightly different control scheme, and find an audience that appreciates the game's overall style in doing so. And a style is certainly what the game has; from the...

Project Sylpheed Review

The vast power of the past couple generations of gaming systems is well known throughout the industry. Many old franchises have seen 3d revivals, some with huge amounts of success (Mario 64 and Metroid Prime spring to mind) while others have been...

While Project Sylpheed is far from absolutely horrible, it isn't something you should rush out to buy. It isn't so bad as a rental, though – It'll last you for a few hours of play, at least. It really isn't worth a purchase at a $40 price tag, though.

"Unless you're really dying for an intergalactic space battle at this moment you should wait for a more polished release."

Project Sylpheed

Project Sylpheed is a game I really wanted to love. Created by Square-Enix, it promised to be a fun space shooter, with what may be an awesome story the likes of which only Square-Enix can craft. Well, at least the story was solid.

Project Sylpheed is a game which could have been a good example of a budget 360 title, but instead shows us why this game may be budget in the first place. Would you spend 60 on something lacking features and longevity? I wouldn't.

The long-running shooter series takes flight once again.

Project Sylpheed

The space shooter series known as Silpheed receives a next-gen sequel (and a slight spelling change) in Project Sylpheed for Xbox 360. Players will experience a more story-driven effort this time around, with nearly an hour's worth of cinematic cut-scenes
