Red Faction: Armageddon - Path to War Review

With only four uneven missions of downloadable destruction, Path to War offers too little and costs too much.

Shard gun fuels some destructive fun

It's only an hour long ; Vehicle sections blunt the explosive excitement ; Can't use new guns in other modes

Path to War also comes with a handful of new achievements, but it's easy to get them all on your first and only playthrough. Completing the four missions and exhausting everything this add-on has to offer takes only about an hour, and it's a shame that...

Red Faction: Armageddon

So, after all of this talk, is it worth it or is this trip to Mars destined to fail like another Mars Polar Lander? Join the faction, my friends. Red Faction: Armageddon delivers on its promises, even with the uneven level design, soap-opera storyline...

Red Faction: Armageddon

In many ways, Armageddon is a much more polished game than its predecessor, the critically acclaimed cult darling Red Faction: Guerilla. Key here is the slick user interface, the superb music and great looking movie sequences.

The trainer, which gives you everything from unlimited health, ammo, no reload and unlimited sprint makes the game a ton easier, but by far the best cheat in the trainer in the ability to use unlimited nano forge, it's like having unlimited destruction...

Red Faction: Armageddon

You should never underestimate the ever-enduring appeal of destruction. Especially wanton destruction. That's the best kind, and something that Red Faction: Guerrilla excelled in. Red Faction: Armageddon is ostensibly more of the same, but takes the...

Red Faction: Armageddon is a great follow-up to Guerrilla, and while it's not quite as large or as ambitious as its predecessor, it's still a fun, riotous and entertaining game that's well worth playing.

Red Faction: Armageddon

Though Red Faction: Armageddon isn’t the most creative game on the market, it’s one of the most entertaining action games to hit it in a while. Fans of previous virtual mining expeditions (scratch that; uprisings) on the red planet will feel at home...

Red Faction: Armageddon Review

This third-person shooter differentiates itself from its predecessor with a surprisingly replayable campaign.

If you don't know by now, Red Faction: Armageddon boasts destructible environments -- one of the strongest elements of the game that makes it, well, fun. Running around in an explosion of rubble and flame becomes time well spent. On more than one...

Red Faction: Armageddon Review

When Red Faction: Guerrilla came out a couple of years ago, it successfully rebooted a once-buried franchise with a new vigor, featuring fully destructible environments and a gameplay set-up similar to Grand Theft Auto, but with a Mars-tinged style all...

Along with an immense collection of weaponry, Mason’s Nanoforge abilities also prove useful. With it, you can rebuild bridges and other structures, vital to completing certain missions, such as rebuilding a water pumping station. You can also enhance...

Red Faction: Armageddon Review for the XBOX360

The catwalks? Boom. The generators? Kerpow. All those enemies? Smithereens.

Amazing levels of destruction; Variety of weapons and enemies; The Nano Forge and abilities

No more open world?; It's so dark in these caves

Red Faction: Armageddon Review

Red Faction: Armageddon's been on our radar for months, but the wait is finally over. It's here, it's fun, and yet we're still left wanting.

Despite its forgettable story and pacing issues with the campaign, Red Faction: Armageddon is good fun for letting out your inner destructive child. They ability to tear apart and repair the environments at will is a hook that keeps working, and when...

Red Faction: Armageddon Review

Is this a standup fight, sir, or another bug hunt? (It's mostly a bug hunt)

Geo-Mod as fun and as useful as ever; repair function is handy; one of the multiplayer modes is entertaining; save anywhere feature

Enemies get old; story is nonsensical; last few hours drag

Red Faction Armageddon isn?t the direction I expected THQ and Volition to take with this franchise. I admit I was hoping for another Guerrilla, but that doesn?t mean Armageddon is a bad game. There are moments when it's quite good, but it's also a bit...
