Rogue Warrior Review

Even Mickey Rourke can't save this game.

Then, we come to the big selling point of the game: Mickey Rourke. That's right, The Wrestler himself supplies to voice for Richard Marcinko. What the verdict? Bad, very bad. It's hard to say who is to blame for this poor execution, but safe to...

The only thing gone rogue here is a sense of quality.

The kill moves are varied and brutal

Everything else

Though the game really tries for the over the top action of a summer blockbuster, it never comes close to that level of satisfaction. The gunplay feels like a chunky afterthought, and a cover system that very nearly causes more harm than good doesn't...

Rogue Warrior (PC) Review

No one ever said going solo behind the lines during the Cold War would be easy, but who cares when you're Dick Marcinko? Rogue Warrior takes players on a quick and dirty ride through enemy territory unlike any other game.

Gaming should be an immersive experience that drags players into the conflict and attacks their sense of fight or flight, making them tense and eager to rush into a fight just to get to some resolution. Rogue Warrior could have done this if the time...

It doesn't take more than a few minutes of playing Rogue Warrior to realize that the game sucks. I was already privy to this fact, of course. I opted not to spend much time checking out the E3 build at this year's show, because the game didn't look...

And good Christ, is this game bland. The graphics (and particularly textures) would’ve looked bad (and dated) circa 2001. The story is nearly non-existent and involves Marcinko disobeying orders and sabotaging Soviet installations. Explosions are...

Good FPs games are far and between — for every Modern Warfare 2, there's a dozen lower profile games, most of which are released rather silently with no marketing efforts. One of those games is Rogue Warrior, and if you haven't heard about it, there's...

From time to time, developers will pull the plug on a game for any number of reasons. Maybe the funding isn't there, or the game isn't up to snuff. Sometimes games will shift from one developer to another before hitting shelves, as is the case with...

Rogue Warrior is easily one of the worst games on the Xbox 360. Featuring broken stealth action and bland tactical shooting, Rogue Warrior is a miserable experience, and best avoided at all costs.

Absurd violence and inappropriately harsh language do little to help this lame shooter

Brutal kill animations ; Mickey Rourke as Dick Marcinko ; That's it. Even the two we've mentioned are a stretch

Inadequate stealth mechanics ; Over-the-top cursing and dialogue ; Sub-par FPS gameplay

Even if you're a tremendous fan of Marcinko and love his books, rent this one before you spend your hard-earned cash. The season is too full of top-notch games and excellent DLC for you to spend your cash on this stinker.

is real-life ex-Navy SEAL, Richard “Demo Dick” Marcinko. Marcinko is a highly decorated former officer who's probably best known for founding the legendary counter-terrorism unit, Seal Team Six. Marcinko's exploits earned him a reputation as a man...

Commanding Red Cell, [Marcinko] was directed to use his team to test the Navy's anti-terrorist capabilities. As a result, he was able to infiltrate seemingly impenetrable, highly secured bases, nuclear submarines, ships and other "secure areas,"...
