Saints Row

Competition is good. It ensures a quality product from a market leader. Take away the competition and bloated complacency sets in, usually resulting in sub-standard products and performance in all areas. Well, Rockstar Games can consider Volition,...

Grand Theft Auto III was a turning point in the PlayStation 2's life cycle. It was the title that would ultimately define the machine and, as some may argue, the embodiment of an entire console generation. Its multi-tiered success is still being...

Gangstas in Space: Saints Row 3 DLC Review

After the terrible Genkibowl DLC, what Saints Row: The Third needed was a mission pack that brought the focus back to where it belonged, namely shooting enemies in as over the top a fashion as possible. Gangstas in Space does just this, placing you in...

Great sense of humor, usual over the top aesthetic, you get to keep a spacecraft

Short, doesn’t tie in to the greater story

Saints Row

If imitation is the finest form of flattery, the boys at Rockstar must be the brightest shade of red they have ever been. Grand Theft Auto is nothing short of...

Improves On The Genre ; Great Online Component ; Slick Visuals ; Fun With Physics

Graphics Could Be Smoother ; Still Lacks Some Features

Saints Row

The sound effects in the game are at least good. The explosions, cars, guns, they all sound great. The radio is very nice, though I often prefer to just use custom soundtracks. The DJs though are great. The soundtrack is very hip hop oriented but...

Saints Row is a good game but it also has a lot of problems and a general lack of polish, something that Rockstar’s series has never suffered from. If you need a sand box game now for your 360, this is the only one out there so you should probably pick...

Saints Row

When thinking of open-world urban 'sandbox' games, Volition isn't the first name you think of. With a history dating back to Descent, and having done solid FPSs Red Faction & Red Faction 2, Saints Row may not have been what most people expected out of...

A solid story line that offers a good 30 hours of gameplay and a number or side missions to extend the experience, plus online multiplayer and some limited co-op options and you've got a game you can keep coming back to. Plus blowing crap up never gets...

Saints Row

Since the advent of the œUrban Thug Simulator genre by

Saints Row tempted me from the beginning with an immersive experience by showing off the wonders of the Havok engine. Volition then decided to violently rip that experience away from me by frequently demonstrating that Saint's Row was just a knockoff...

Saint's Row

With the lack of a next-generation Grand Theft Auto, THQ and Volition set out to fill the void on the Xbox 360. Originally set for release as a launch title, Saint's Row looked choppy and unplayable when I first saw the game at E3 2005–before the...

Saint’s Row may look, sound, and play a lot like Grand Theft Auto–but this is one Xbox 360 game that is worth playing if you need a next-gen clone of GTA to satisfy your gaming desires until Rockstar delivers their hit franchise. Although it suffers...

Saints Row

I'm addicted to sandbox games. I make no secret of the fact that I just can't get enough of them. In fact, with few exceptions, they may be the only real console gaming I do at the moment. That said, unlike most people, I wasn't really mad when I heard...

Looks next-gen ; Sounds spectacular ; Tons of replay value ; Improves the tired GTA formula

Respect system ; Hit-or-miss humor ; Repetitive missions ; No boats, planes, or motorcycles

Had I not already played Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas close to a year ago, I would be amazed with this game to the hilt – in fact, for those of you who haven’t played San Andreas yet, this might even be the way to go (forgive me Rockstar!). However,...

Saints Row Review

Welcome to Stilwater, your average video game city, riddled with crime, thugs, foul language, and excessive violence. I know what you are thinking… hey here is just another Grand Theft ...

Despite some of its flaws, Saints Row is one of the most complete packages available for the X-Box 360. Not only is the gameplay deep (yet simplistic at the same time), but it is just downright fun, which is something that you don’t see with a lot of...

Saints Row

Saints Row is hardly the first game to attempt to capitalize on the success of the Grand Theft Auto series. In the past few years we have seen True Crime, NARC, The Getaway, Driv3r, and even The Simpsons: Hit & Run. For the most part, these open-ended...

While Saints Row won't win any awards for originality, it does manage to weave a pretty interesting story with great game play and a lot of fun activities to do.
