Skylanders: Giants

I seriously think I am the only who did not drink the proverbial Kool-Aid with regards to Activision's new Skylanders franchise. The game itself isn't nearly as groundbreaking as it wants to be and the peripherals and “figures” are added costs with a...

Some fun action gameplay ; Can take characters to friends house and play, regardless of console

Still not 4 players ; Not actually toys ; Have to make additional purchases to finish the game ; Pricey ; Still offline only ; Really stupid story

If it isn't broke, don't fix it. Well, the previous game was broke, and they didn't fix it.

The sequel to last year's breakout toy/video game hit brings light-up action figures and gameplay improvements. But is it enough to hold the attention of you and your kids?

I've been looking back on the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" reference I've used in reviews, and, well, it's ain't broke, so why not use it again…especially when it applies to a lovable series that's been embraced so well by fans. Toys For Bob...

The good news with Giants is that the game fully supports your original Portal and Skylanders figures, so you don't have to plunk down a ton of extra cash if you want to get into the game right away. (Activision sells it separately, along with a...

Is your inner child dead inside?

Toys brought to life, yippee!; Cool giants; Nightmare challenge; Lots of content, lots of side tasks; Appropriate music and sound effects

Sections of gameplay closed off if you don't have the right elemental Skylander; Can cost a lot in the long run

Paying upwards of $200 for the full Skylanders Giants experience is a hard sell, but the $75 starter pack which include the game and three figurines (one giant, two regular) is a good jumping point for both kids and parents. I don't particularly care...

If you have children, or have been a die-hard collector of a series, then you know about the unbelievable demand to find that "one character". You scour the stores, you hunt online, you even call your friends to try and help you complete your...

Action figures and gaming reunite to deliver one of the best gaming experiences of this holiday season.

I really cannot praise Skylanders: Giants enough. Last year's beginnings were just that, a launch pad for what was to become one of the most sought after collectibles of the 2011 holiday season. With tons of new and exciting things to do, new figures...

The Skylander craze returns with giants. Find out if you should open up your wallets once again.

Still great for all ages ; Leveling characters is addictive ; Giants are as fun as you imagine ; Love the voice work and audio

Minor glitches ; Series 2 and Lightcore feel forced

There's enough new in Skylanders Giants to make it a game that I would recommend to parents. You could simply buy the game and use an existing "Portal of Power" and action figures from Spyro's Adventure. All "Portal Owners Packs" come with a bonus...
