Tekken 6 Limited Edition (Xbox 360)

Despite the dozens (and sometimes hundreds) of moves available per pugilist, intricate juggle combos, complex counters, and esoteric gameplay quirks that have evolved through five prequels, Tekken 6 is an altogether welcoming fighting game. For...

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Review

A few hardcore fighting fans dismiss Tekken merely for the fact that it's built more for the tap-tap style of player, who can chain together combos with button presses rather than well-timed executions with a double joystick roll and such. But there's...

Part of the battle is learning just what works for you – something that a few folks that easily diss Tekken take for granted. The gameplay in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is refined. Sure, it does have the "tap-tap" logic in some spots, and some AI...

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Review

Tag-team fighting is hot again, and Tekken is bringing it back -- but how does it fare in an era owned by Marvel vs. Capcom?

With its gigantic roster, in-depth character customization options, and breadth of modes, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is definitely a worthy addition to the franchise. That is, if you make it past some of the more frustrating and impenetrable aspects of...

Tekken 6

The King of Iron Fist returns to the console arena. The Tekken series has had an interesting run. The love/hate relationship with the series continues to go back and forth,...

Massive roster ; Tons to unlock ; Lots of outfits ; Tons of customization

Laggy online ; Cheap final boss ; Massive load times

Tekken 6

To a generation of fighting gamers, the Tekken series has been one of the best in the genre. Like the prior installments in the series, Tekken 6 features a cast of characters that are gathered together to fight in a tournament to determine a champion....

Solid installment in the Tekken series ; Good graphics ; Smooth offline controls and framerate ; Deep move and combo system

Online mode extremely laggy ; Azazel is a cheap final boss that saps fun out of the game ; Scenario Campaign mode is a missed opportunity ; Lack of co-op in Scenario Campaign mode ; Extremely high learning curve with only basic tools to self-teach you...

Tekken 6 is exactly what you think it is: the latest iteration in a 15 year old franchise. Fans of the series will accept it—albeit with cries of it not being better than insert version here—and newcomers will jump in recognizing the series as one of...

Tekken 6

Tekken 6 is the latest offering in a series which has always been seen as the slow, clunky and chunky foil to the flash-bang-kapow Street Fighter (SF) games. Whereas SF had the player jumping 15 feet high across the screen, lobbing balls of flaming...

Tekken 6

I'm going to make a bold claim about a highly polished and anticipated sequel from a well-respected game series. Tekken 6 absolutely does not do what Street Fighter IV does, and Namco Bandai had the rare opportunity to draw converts to the fold of...

Tekken 6 Review

A game for the patient pros.

Lots of characters to pummel; fighting is easy well-balanced between being accessible and frighteningly deep; sweet character customization

Garbage scenario campaign; atrocious loading times; one of the worst final bosses of all time; you've played this before; sometimes-busted online multiplayer

There is a very specific audience for Tekken 6 that will eat it up. Everyone else will see it as more of the same, but with a garbage new game mode and long load times. This is a game for the patient pros, even if it is casually accessible.

Tekken 6 (Xbox 360) Review

Who will win the King of the Iron Fist tournament? More importantly, who wants to be blacklisted by the government for winning the title “King of the Iron Fist”?

As I’ve stated Tekken is a very fun game to play even if you’re not a hardcore fighting fan. And hey, what do you know? If you’re a hardcore fighting fan, there's a lot to fun to be had in Tekken 6. There is a lot to do, lots of fighters to play...

Tekken 6

Tekken was one of the original PlayStation's best franchises, and it was among one of the best 3-D fighters. That was then, and somehow over the years I lost track of the franchise. Some of my attention was diverted to Namco's superior fighter, Soul...

Tons of characters + Multiple playmodes

Story mode not actually a fighting game - Cut scenes way too long - Feels a little clunky

Nostalgia can only take you so far. Tekken may need to get itself into the modern era. This is a passable sequel, but it isn't a great game. I would like to see something more immersive not just prettier.
