Test Drive Unlimited 2

Four and a half years ago, the original Test Drive Unlimited tried to do what no other racing game before it had done - merge a traditional racing game with a massively multiplayer online aspect. It was largely a success, albeit rough around the edges....

The "server is not available" messages haven't plagued my screen once since the update was released, which is a huge improvement over how things were before, when the MMO aspect was unavailable far more often than not. The biggest change for me was...

Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends Review

Even though it'll always be out of your price range, there's something to be said about a good Ferrari. Whether it's the one that was driven by Tom Selleck in Magnum P.I., the one in Cannonball Run that houses a somewhat drunken pair of Rat Pack...

Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends Review

Have I suddenly become bad at video games?

Cars look great

Difficulty ramps poorly; Environment looks poor; Twitchy controls; Overly aggressive AI; Training section is misplaced and more difficult than races

In short, I didn't like it and I deeply thought about displaying a picture of it in my trashcan to express my disfavor. But I'm not going to waste any more time on it. I'd rather spend it playing something else to wash the taste of Test Drive Ferrari...

Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends Review

Is this playable love-letter to Ferrari a dream to drive, or a $5,000 oil-change nightmare?

High-speed thrills hit the wall too soon in the punishing campaign, and despite a solid range of multiplayer, quick race, and time-trial options, progressing through the three distinct eras to unlock all the tracks and sweet rides is a big part of the...

Test Drive Unlimited 2

Dating back to 1987 when the Commodore 64 ruled the world and the Test Drive franchise was under the Accolade banner, I have had some sort of relationship with a Test Drive title. So I was pretty excited when I loaded up Test Drive Unlimited 2 (TDU2)...

Ultimately, Test Drive Unlimited 2 is a fun game to play that will keep you entertained for hours upon hours. Despite a few annoyances and flaws, the game has so much to do and explore that you could spend hours playing in this part of the game without...

Test Drive Unlimited 2 Review for the PC

Driving a hard bargain.

Open world racing MMO; Unique balance as a casual racer; Good soundtrack and music; Strong concept; Strong replay value

without clubs yet; Over-performed voice-acting; Glitchy

Test Drive Unlimited 2

All in all, they have created an amazingly large, expansive driving game that's truly a joy to get lost within, but doesn't perform well enough to keep you within that illusion. If you were a die hard fan of the original and have a large amount of...

Test Drive Unlimited 2

"The concept of a racing game that effortlessly integrates multiplayer looks great on paper, but the execution just doesn't cut it."

Test Drive Unlimited 2 Review

On one hand we have a lot of improvements to the formula, but on the other, there are some questionable decisions that actually hold the title back.

Massive islands to explore ; Cars look great

Ridiculous story/acting ; Tedious exploration ; Driving just feels off ; Glitches

The first Test Drive Unlimited was revolutionary in several ways. It really captured the persistent online world of a racing game, complete with seeing other players driving around a massive map full of races and challenges to complete. I was a huge...

Test Drive Unlimited 2

You wonder how mankind discovered certain things that defy combination; like sweet and sour. Initial thoughts are that it won't work but suddenly the majority seem to be in favour. So for merging a "Sims style" massive multiplayer online (MMO) game...
