The Maw

A charming and beautiful addition to the XBLA family. The Xbox Live Arcade service has seen a recent decline in quality titles over the past month and we were beginning...

Colorful visuals ; Fantastic presentation ; Great characters

Core game is short ; Not many extras

The Maw

A nicely presented but not particularly exciting adventure.

While the game is severely flawed, the presentation is exceptional for a downloadable title. With nicely rendered environments and an art style that feels like a big budget CGI animated film, The Maw at least makes the short ride through its world an...

The Maw - XBLA Review

While Microsoft may have hoped Community Games would provide the next leap forward in videogame creativity, XBLA still has more than enough of its own. Gamers need look no further than the slick action-adventure of The Maw for proof that it has not...

The main character, Frank, looks eerily similar to the female alien character in sci-fi fantasy film Explorers, and the whimsical score occasionally harkens back to Congo Bongo, so it is clear the developers drew some inspiration from the eighties. ...

You bet it's short. I mean SHORT. You will play it for 2 sittings and never go back to it. Even at the $10 price point, there simply isn't enough game, endearing though it may be. Post a Comment

The Maw is a simple, yet enjoyable game, with charm to spare. It may not be enamoring enough to ignore its gameplay flaws or the fact that it is not terribly deep, but despite those setbacks, it is still a refreshing change of pace that is worth playing

The Maw - Xbox 360 review at Thunderbolt Games

The Maw is like that attractive girl you pass by everyday without uttering a word to at school, the library or any other rom-com set piece cliché. A major crush develops and before you know it, said girl has taken out an indefinite lease to your brain....

Review: The Maw

I have always had a love for Pixar; and if those animation masterminds made The Maw, I wouldn't have been surprised. Like Pixar's animated films, Twisted Pixel's award-winning Xbox Live Arcade title is full of color, quirky humor, and unique character...

The Maw

Who knew gluttonous destruction could be both fun and cute?

Adorable main characters ; Short but sweet bite-sized levels ; Learning how to play without boring tutorials

Slightly sub-par graphics ; Leaves you wanting more ; Not much else, unless you're heartless

If there's one area of The Maw that gives itself away as a cheap, downloadable game, it's the length. Owing partially to an upbeat lack of death in the game, its 4-5 hours can easily be toppled in a single sitting or two. That may not seem like much...

The Maw

The Maw is like a cupcake - short, sweet, and when it's done you're left wanting a little bit more. You play the part of Frank, a little blue alien who is (for reasons unknown to the player) captured by bumbling robots and thrown into a jail cell with...

The Maw review for the XBOX360

The Maw. The Hunger.

Colorful, vibrant visuals; Great character animations; Easy to pick up and play

Can be a bit too simple; Too short

An adorable platform game follows a boy and his Maw.

It won't take long to consume, but the taste is sweet.
