The Pinball Arcade

The ever-maturing downloadable space has allowed for some rather niche genres to find their audience. From The Legend of Grimrock to Lone Survivor, players can find new games for their favorite genres for a price that's hard to argue with.

There aren't a whole lot of different pinball games out there, especially with Zen Studios dominating most of the downloadable market when it comes to this niche. With The Pinball Arcade, FarSight Studios doesn't necessarily offer a direct competitor...

Pinball Arcade

I remember going to the local arcade as a kid with my pocket of quarters, excited to try the new games and old favorites. A backup for me was always the pinball machines, as there’s nothing else really like a pinball machine that other arcade games...

Williams, Bally, and other authentic pinball boards return in this miniature monument in pinball's history.

The Pinball Arcade is a reminder and a reassertion. It establishes itself as a major player in a mostly monopolized space on XBLA. Farsight aims to release more real-world machines in digital form long-term, and for tournament play, and it's clear why:...

The Pinball Arcade- Xbox 360

Once Farsight Studios releases more of the DLC tables on its ambitious schedule - so far entirely free of anyone in tights and a cape - the choice between Pinball FX 2 and Pinball Arcade is just going to get harder. You might as well go ahead and get...

The Pinball Arcade- Xbox 360

The developer is manufacturing a museum full of terrific, timeless proxies. Whether you're obsessed with the old-school or still waiting to discover it, playing four pieces of history for $10 is absolutely worthwhile.

The Pinball Arcade- Xbox 360

FX 2 tables are "post-pinball" pinball games, while Pinball Arcade's tables are deadly accurate re-creations of the original mechanical objects. That doesn't make Pinball Arcade bad, just traditional and unenhanced. What The Pinball Arcade set out to...
