Thor: God of Thunder

Since hitting the PS2 over half a decade ago, the God of War formula has become fairly well-known, with some games doing a decent job with it like Dante's Inferno, and others using it as a basis and then adding to it like Castlevania: Lords of Shadow....

Thor for the 360 and PS3 is a sub-par God of War clone that does a surface-level job of replicating what makes that kind of game work, while missing the point of what works on any kind of deeper level. If you like that style of game, play either that...

Thor: God of Thunder

Voiceovers from the film's cast are done surprisingly well, and some of the scenery in the game is rendered remarkably. Sadly, the rest of the game (including out dated character models and effects) is either unimpressive or downright bad.

I'd love to see a cheat to unlock unlimited health, magic and instant upgrades. These cheats would make playing through Thor a more enjoyable experience to play through.

Thor: God of Thunder Review

Thor isn't the worst game I've played, but it's certainly the worst I've played in a long, long time.

Playing this game is an exercise in patience. The graphics are mediocre at best, and even then the game struggles to maintain a consistent presentation of the world around you. Control is completely spotty. More often than not I pressed a button and...

Thor: God of Thunder

After all of the recent blockbuster superhero films, you can't help but feel we've entered the “scraping the bottom of the barrel” stage. Sure, we've all heard of Thor but does anyone really know his story that well, outside of hardened comic nuts of...

Thor: God of Thunder is the typical movie tie-in in every way conceivable: the subpar graphics, sound and gameplay all add up to a bit of a rush job that will not even please ardent fans. This is rental fodder at its finest and even then you may well...

Thor: God of Thunder Review

This game adaption is less "god of war and thunder," and more "god of snore and blunder."

Though the initial trailers were unconvincing, I'm happy to say that Marvel's first Thor film looks to be a winner. Relative newcomer Chris Hemsworth reportedly turns in a commanding performance as the titular Norse god, a supremely well-respected...

Thor: God of Thunder Review

It is no secret among gamers that movie licensed games often fail to deliver a memorable gaming experience. Comic licensed titles often tend to be just as bad, and a combination of the two often result in a rushed, terrible mess of a game. The fates...

Like most movie games, Thor’s graphics fail to impress. The game does utilize the unreal engine, but character animations and backgrounds simply feel rushed. Thor’s cape flows awkwardly, defeated enemies disappear before they even have the chance to...

Thor: God of Thunder Review

Thor's game adaptation could have been a whole lot better. In the end it's just another generic action game.

The Wii version of Thor: God of Thunder did a lot of things right, but did equally as much wrong. The game is repetitive, button mashy, filled with glitches, and plagued by slowdown. But it makes up for all this a little with changing level design, a...

Thor: God of Thunder review

While reviews of Thor the movie have been pretty good, the video game has proven to be a critically acclaimed flop. It’s disappointing, too, since super hero games have done well in recent memory with hits like Batman: Arkham Asylum and DC Universe...

As great of a game as Thor could have been, the developers really let their fans down by creating a linear experience with level design that will excite no one. The combat works fine and can actually be decent at times, but it all feels too much like a...

Could this Marvel adaption be good?

It certainly has more going for it than most movie-based games, but how much more?

Thor: God of Thunder Review

Disjointed, numbing, vexing, joyless, and dull, Thor: God of Thunder is the quintessential action movie video game adaptation...

All your favourite actors from the film voice their polygonal counterparts ; Auto-hint system; Not quite as bad as having a serpent drip venom into your eyes for all eternity

Bland graphics; Tepid game mechanics ; Felt like a cynical cash-in
