Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X 2 (360, PS3) Review

411's Trace Aber takes it to the skies as he reviews H.A.W.X 2 - does the game manage to sore higher than the first one or is it better off staying grounded? Find out inside!

H.A.W.X. 2 (PS3) Review

Ubisoft delivers another installment of the H.A.W.X. Universe, but will it improve on the first entry?

Tom Clancy is best known for his thrilling novels that revolve around espionage, conspiracies, and military tensions between countries. Sometime in the late 90's he decided to co-found a video game developer known as Red Storm Entertainment. They...

Tom Clancy's HAWX 2

The first HAWX game was one of my favourite titles of last year and it was certainly a pleasant surprise to play a new IP that felt so polished and offered something just that little bit different. However, that success does not seem to have led to the...

HAWX 2 is such a letdown after the brilliant original and, if anything, feels like it has gone back a few steps rather than making any kind of progression. There is still plenty of fun to be had, especially in co-op or on the survival maps, but the...

Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2 Review

A good-looking dogfighter with solid controls, bogged down by too much stuff.

Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X 2

Strategy Informer goes hands-on with this latest high-flying Clancy game.

Standing in a small aircraft hanger, smack in the middle of some private airfield somewhere along the M40, you could tell it was just going to be one of those days. Tired, bleary eyes, and holding my coffee like it was a gift from the heavens, I...

Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2- Xbox 360

H.A.W.X. 2 is certainly an improvement over its predecessor; however it is far from being considered a must-own arcade based flight shooter. The repetitive aerial dogfights, average looking visuals, and convoluted storyline will undoubtedly have...

Tom Clancy's HAWX 2

Dogfights in HAWX 2 can be exciting, but some dodgy AI and lacklustre missions stop this game from being an air combat ace.

Exciting aerial combat ; Looks great from the air ; Good multiplayer options ; Plenty of different planes to fly

Uneven enemy AI ; Looks bad closer to the ground ; Some poor collision detection ; Non-fighter missions are hit and miss

Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X 2

A little while ago a game called HAWX2 came out. AJ wrote his review but completely forgot to publish it. It's been lost ever since. Now, here it is for the first time.

Far more intense combat. More believable and intriguing story. Interesting cross-over with Ghost Recon. Varied mission types including gunship and UAV missions. Now features take off, landing and refueling

Missions are often feature many dozen targets, most of which aren't your concern, but it's hard to know exactly what IS your concern. Team mates are still pretty much useless

All in all, HAWX2 is a great improvement over the first version. It really is more of an iteration than a revelation, however. If you weren't a fan of the first one, it's unlikely that the second one will excite you either. It's still far from the...

Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2

Games Xtreme returns to the danger zone for more aerial combat in a modern fighter

Altogether this is a fun game that will keep you busy for a while and the plus points far outweigh the bad points but I would only call this an essential purchase if like me you're a fan of the original or find it at the right price.

H.A.W.X 2 certainly knows how to fly, but it never really gets a chance to soar.
