THPS HD - Brings back memories

How I have waited for a remake of this game, and was I disappointed... no! Although i would have liked a couple of the original Tony Hawks 2 levels (such as Philadelphia and Bull Ring) to be included, can see some DLC coming out for that.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD

I am sure that, to many, Tony Hawk HD is more than a mid-priced XBLA title. It is a nostalgic portal to the past, bringing up memories of being a young person with far fewer responsibilities. Distant memories of hot summer nights, listening to...

Brings back the old Tony Hawk feeling nicely ; Controls feel right, even if the world sometimes behaves oddly

Not the right selection of music for the target audience ; Glitchy graphics and suspect physics at times

All the right notes are there, but not being played the way you might want them. If you loved the old Tony Hawk games you'll probably enjoy revisiting the School, the Hangar, and other familiar places.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD

Robomodo gave it an honest effort. Twice. They tried replacing the controller with a skateboard peripheral. The lesson learned is there’s nothing especially wrong with a controller and how Guitar Hero’s appeal for plastic instruments couldn’t extend...

I like the idea of coming back to Pro Skater more in theory than I actually enjoy playing it. It all feels a bit careless. There are a couple levels where the nostalgia came through strongly but most of the time it felt as though it were a 13 year old...

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD

Ten years ago, after seeing the overwhelming response to their first few Pro Skater games, Activision signed a deal that would keep Tony Hawk with the company until 2015. While that may have seemed like a can't-miss deal a decade ago, these days...

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD may accomplish all of its goals, but there is still a lot to be desired. The graphics are outdated, the gameplay is missing a key component, there aren't enough levels and the create-a-character mode has been removed entirely....

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD Review

It's crazy to think how badly the Tony Hawk's brand has faltered since its inception. At the turn of the millennium, the series looked set to keep the quality rolling, but things changed very quickly. The games lost sight of what made them fun to play,...

Landing an insane combo still produces a smile.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD Review

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD just about nails the feel of vintage Tony Hawk, but it's a lean package that fails to capitalize on that foundation.

Plays like classic Tony Hawk ; Nicely detailed HD visuals ; Plenty of unlockables

Meager and questionable choice of levels ; Awkward bail animations and numerous visual quirks ; Missing several game modes from THPS2

And that's too bad, because the core of Pro Skater HD is Tony Hawk through and through. The skateboarding is nearly identical to that of the first few games, and the career mode remains every bit as playable as it was when those games first came out....

Tony Hawk`s Pro Skater HD on Xbox 360

Take a Trip Back to 1999

Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD is the first game to be released for this Summer Of Arcade, and honestly one of the titles that I was looking forward to for some time. While there are a bunch of shortcomings it acts as such a nice trip down memory lane that it...

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD Review

Skateboarding games sure went downhill, didn't they? Back in 1999, Neversoft and Activision revolutionized extreme sports games with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater on the PlayStation, N64, and Dreamcast, and every year for the next seven, Neversoft tried to...

Despite some missing things and relatively minor disappointments, I think the biggest issue I have is that Tony Hawk 3, my favorite game in the series, is not represented at all in this package - or at least, not until Activision goes ahead and puts up...
