Voltron: Defender of the Universe lacks anything beyond the main campaign, save an arena mode DLC available for an additional 240 MSP that really should have been included in the main game. It is also too short.

o say that Voltron: Defender of the Universe is a disappointment is an understatement. What should be blistering action is yawn-inducing and seems more like a chore used to get to the mech sequences, which only serve to disappoint MORE by the sheer...

It says something when a Voltron game can't even get the giant robot battles right. It all comes down to the fact that this is the sort of game a dedicated fan will buy on a whim, play for 20 minutes, and put aside forever. Hopefully, that fan isn't you.

Even the climactic final swipe of your Blazing Sword is about as thrilling as slicing a hardboiled egg, as your involvement amounts to tapping a single button for a few seconds. Voltron may be well past its prime, but it deserved a lot better than this.

The gameplay itself is simplistic, repetitive and fails to convey the powerful feeling of piloting a team of robot lions that transform into a towering intergalactic badass. It may be Voltron by name, but in this case the five cats have come together...
