Wet (Xbox 360)

In the first scene of Wet, you slide down a long table in slow motion, smashing through towers of champagne glasses and a giant cake as you gun down thugs who are trying to kill you. Then you leap off the table to fly over a dragon-shaped ice sculpture...

She plays a Harmonica! WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT?!

With the variable replay elements in a non-online game such as hidden monkeys (it's sort of the game's mascot), level performance, and score, you have a reason to replay the game, but not a good reason. Taking a good 8-10 hours, Wet provides an...

This girl is more style than substance. Wet is the kind of game that reminds you of a summer blockbuster movie. It is mindless, repetitive and lacking in substance, but...

Great sense of style ; Mindless fun ; Superb presentation

Lacking depth and substance ; Can be repetitive

It's not too often these days that a game gets released that you can truly call ‘art'. The word gets thrown around a lot for games that are very fun, or well-made, but I'm talking about a real application of the word. Something that non-gamers can...

Excellent retro aesthetic ; Gorgeous sound ; Excellent run ‘n gun gameplay

Slightly repetitive ; Challenge mode is BRUTAL

WET is a landmark for the ‘games as art argument’, and will be for years to come. But on top of this, it’s also fun throughout. The sense of satisfaction it gives when Rubi leaps off a wall and shotguns a man to death, slashing another with her sword...

WET is an action game that follows the same tradition as the Wii exclusive House of the Dead: Overkill with a style that is reminiscent of the old Grindhouse films from the 70s. WET is almost a homage to those films, with a lead protagonist that can...

Why is it that all game writers and developers suddenly lose any shred of creativity the moment they have to pen a female character? They always seem to resort time and again to the ‘bad-ass chick who takes no shit from anyone'. Here's Wet where you...

How many of you remember drive in theaters? How many of you actually WENT to drive in theaters? Yeah, that's what I thought. The guys at developer Artificial Mind & Movement obviously remember this bygone era and have created a game that pays homage to...

Fun ; Brings back that Drive-In feeling ; Ridiculous over the top gameplay

Swordplay innacurate ; Uneven graphics ; Problems with the weapons reticule ; Rage Mode seems pointless

Not the best game, but still fun to play.

The video game industry has been cranking out products for over thirty years. During this time, thousands and thousands of new ideas and concepts have been concocted in order to please the enlarging audience. With such a long history of new ideas being...

The one exception to the annoyance is Rubi herself. Rubi’s character is the only person in the entire story that appears to show any substance past one-dimensional personality traits. That being said, she’s still not a product of Tarantino’s mind and...

Rubi is not your average video game heroine. She's a gun-toting, liquor-drinking, pole-swinging, opera-hating, sword-wielding, airplane-hating gun for hire with a big chip on her shoulder. She's the anti-Lara Croft; a hard-as-nails woman who isn't...

It has clunky controls, a cheesy story, hammy acting and crummy visuals. And I loved every minute of Wet. With over-the-top action and some creative flourishes, Wet has a lot going for it. It may not be the best action game of the year, but it's worth...

Lara Croft and the Prince of Persia walk into a bar...

Sound track; voice acting; gunplay is entertaining...at times

Arena spawn battles; repetitiveness; some control issues

If you can look past the repetitiveness of the arena battles and the sometimes clunky controls of the acrobatics, WET is definitely worth giving a go even if just for its visual and gameplay uniqueness, not to mention its kick ass soundtrack.
