Sony CDX-GT420U review

By (cnet.com)

The CDX-GT420U offers drivers a decent range of audio options including a USB interface, support for digital audio discs, and a useful navigation feature for browsing large libraries.

Audio quality leaves something to be desired, and the system's red and green neon backlighting is a little gaudy for our tastes.

In sum Propping up Sony's 2008 range of single-DIN car stereos, the CDX-GT420...

Great Value, Couple of Minor Drawbacks

By N/A (newegg.com)

I am new to the field of automotive audio, but this product left me feeling like I'd made a good decision. I only have four 5.25" speakers, so I can't comment on either the sound quality with a better setup or the more advanced features of the unit, but i...

Just about the cheapest I could find with slot for USB and support for AAC format. Everything is well designed. Came with good manuals and several nice features. It looks and sounds good. I don't have the 20-30 second USB load time others described, but t...

What a pleasure!

By Derran (newegg.com)

If you need a little help, there is a great free website (no registration required) that has step-by-step instructions, with pictures! The site has hundreds of car models to choose from. Search INSTALL DOCTOR and you'll hit the site right away.

Plug-n-play right out of the box. Took only 20 minutes to remove old unit and install the new box. Factory harness in my 1999 Isuzu Rodeo worked great. I love the nearly black faceplate! I can't stand those faceplates with all the psycho colors.

pretty good device

By sailE (newegg.com)

I recomend it. No problem with it.

Does exactly what is supposed to do and even more, plays extremely well, nice sound over all. Great looking too. I bought this thing to play music from my USB drive, I have and 8 gigas one and need no more.It comes with a remote.

It takes some 20 to 30 seconds to read the USB when you plug it but after that is great.
