Foxtel iQ2

foxtel iq2 review: The Foxtel iQ2 is one of the best upgrades currently available for people who've invested in a HD panel, and it will only get better.

Excellent sound and vision, esp. in HD, Exhaustive list of outputs, Easy to use, Stylish, More functionality to come, Most cable customers get all HD FTA channels, HD on demand

Only five exclusive HD channels at launch, Pricier than iQ, Can get noisy, Some initial bugs left to iron out

The Foxtel iQ2 is one of the best upgrades currently available for people who've invested in a HD panel, and it will only get better.

Daewoo DLV-42U1GMB

daewoo dlv-42u1gmb review: Daewoo's 42-inch DLV-42U1GMB LCD TV makes a compelling argument for why sometimes, cheaper LCDs aren't necessarily worse.

3x HDMI inputs, Native 1080p support, Good picture quality

Some mild luminance issues, Annoying controls beep

Daewoo's 42-inch DLV-42U1GMB LCD TV makes a compelling argument for why sometimes, cheaper LCDs aren't necessarily worse.

Adobe Media Player 1.0

adobe media player 1.0 review: Adobe's Media Player is an excellent application that is beautifully designed and easy to use. Shame about the currently available content.

Clean and uncluttered interface, Potentially great Flash video, if you have the streaming backend sorted out, Swift and efficient channel switching

Apart from a few free CSI:NY eps, content is poor, Difficult to manage video downloads, Flash only

It's not just another media player, its a new platform, and one with excellent design, but we still need better content to remain interested.

Small size

Average performance, Overpriced, 802.11b/g only

Sharp LC32D53X

sharp lc32d53x review: We quite liked the Sharp LC32D53X as a whole, and with many other 100Hz televisions causing more problems than they fix, it was good to see something less intrusive and pleasing to the eye.

Excellent image quality, Subtle 100Hz mode, Aesthetically pleasing, Wide range of connection options, Integrated HD Tuner

Minor standard definition issues, Minor distortion at high volumes

We quite liked the Sharp LC32D53X as a whole, and with many other 100Hz televisions causing more problems than they fix, it was good to see something less intrusive and pleasing to the eye.

Samsung HT-X30T

samsung ht-x30t review: It's not the loudest system around, but people will love the Samsung HT-X30's warm sound and great picture quality. Extra features such as a USB port, DivX playback and DVD-Audio support only add to its charm.

Good picture quality, Impressive sound, Low price tag

Not amazingly loud

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ15

panasonic lumix dmc-tz15 review: A 10x optical zoom with a 28mm wide-angle lens sets this point-and-shoot to be one of the favourites among travellers.

10x optical zoom in a compact form, Accurate Intelligent Exposure mode, HD video recording, Clear 460K-pixel 3-inch LCD screen, Captures detailed images with vibrant colours

Top dial easily sets to wrong position, No option to switch off Extra Optical Zoom

With a 10x optical zoom, 28mm-wide lens and HD video recording packed into one compact form, the TZ15 is probably one of the most versatile Lumix compacts we've come across.

Pro-Ject Debut III/Phono USB

pro-ject debut iii/phono usb review: The Pro-Ject Debut III/Phono USB turntable is a great turntable which simplifies archiving recordings on a PC -- even if it still doesn't make it easy.

Excellent sound, Attractive finish, Phono pre-amp and USB out

USB output doesn't simplify recording that much, No PC/Mac software included

Life! LXPI (4GB)

life! lxpi (4gb) review: The first player from Australian brand Life! has a laundry list of features, but video sync issues and teeny touchscreen controls hold it back.

Heaps of features, Two-year warranty, Great battery life

Videos suffer from audio sync problems, Touchscreen buttons are teeny, Using stylus feels awkward

The LXPI has a heap of features for its low price, but dodgy video and teeny touchscreen controls bring the score down.
