Canon I-SENSYS LBP3360

While colour does give documents eye-catching appeal and helps emphasize points of importance; not all documents require this feature.

The printer can be set to automatically drop into sleep mode when no activity is detected.  Waking from this sleep mode took 13 seconds which should not cause too much of an inconvenience.  Currently this printer has been priced at £233.22 which

Brother HL-2170W

Routers, and often wireless ones, are increasingly being used for broadband access and often enable more than one PC to access the internet. Consequently, it is only a relatively small step to add a network printer which can be shared by all users on the

In the past the majority of network laser printers have been both too heavy and too expensive as they were intended for heavy-duty office use. Everything has changed with the introduction of products such as the HL-2170W, which is the most versatile of Br...

Kodak ESP 5

Review : Kodak ESP5 AIO

By paul_smart

This has been a long and frustrating review. The first unit was incomplete so it was replaced. The second had several paper jams and then decided "cannot detect edge of paper" was it's message of choice, so it was replaced so this is unit number three.

Copying can be done without the PC being turned on or even connected. There are a few options but unusually just a single copy button so should you want a single black copy of a colour document it can't be done from the front panel. If it's black you get

Brother DCP-560CN

This is a small All In One unit, meaning it can scan, copy and print. It has a small TFT screen so it is possible to print images direct from either of the two card slots or even from a USB stick.

Certainly a 'curates egg' of a machine some nice things some strange and some poor. However it does allow a cheap entry to network printing if you prefer that to USB

Canon PIXMA MP610

This is a rather squashed looking grey unit, but it does have some surprises, it is an All In One unit, it can print direct onto CD's and DVD's and while on printing, in custom mode you get close to 30PPM.

Printing with black output was only slightly slower at around 20PPM a perfectly acceptable speed for me especially if 30PPM is achievable from the stated 31PPM

Epson Picture MATE PM260

This is purely a photo printer and one that's maximum paper size is 15x10cm. However it is extremely easy to use it does one job, it does it well and it does it quickly.

Once the output tray is lowered two card slots are revealed. The bottom one is for Compact Flash. While the top one takes SD/MMC, xD and Memory Stick it will also accept Mini SD and Memory Stick Duo with optional adapters

Canon PIXMA MP210

This is a sleek low slung AIO (All In One) unit that without the black front may have just passed the lounge police. However it still is a rather nice unit that does everything rather well.

For an AIO unit anything less than £50 would be a good purchase

Epson Stylus Photo RX585 - Set 1

While this may look like just another All In One it does have the odd surprise of two. Certainly the silver grey top and black for everything else is unlikely to pass the lounge police unless he/she is of the Goff persuasion.

I found the getting started sheet okay but as it's only really a series of images I am not sure a 'total novice' would cope

HP Photosmart D7460

This is a six ink printer that also has a display and accepts inputs from various card types and USB sticks. However it is not only USB and Ethernet but it can also print via Bluetooth.

This unit has four print modes, fast draft, fast normal, normal and best. As fast draft is the fastest a lot of my test pages are printed in this mode. For the ubiquitous 200 word document - the nearest one can get to those secret test pages - I managed 2...

Lexmark X6570

Multi Function Machines with wireless are not that unusual, what is unusual is that it has USB but no Ethernet. So you can setup for Wireless or USB.

The duplex is manual but few units in this price band offer even that and there is a good wizard to show you how to do it
