Telstra F158

Telstra F158

By Ross Catanzariti

Shock, dust and water resistant ruggedised design; impressive layout and implementation of controls; HSDPA-capable; loud ringtones

No outstanding features, large and chunky size, average multimedia performance, no memory card slot for extra storage

The Telstra F158 will definitely appeal to tradesmen who require their mobile phone take a beating, but if you look past the ruggedised design, there isn't much else on offer.

Pioneer PDP-LX608A

Pioneer PDP-LX608A

By Andrew Kliem

Brilliant blacks, incredibly crisp image, great colours, full 1080p, 24Hz capable

Some minor noise evident in standard definition from close up, costly

To put it simply, Pioneer's PDP-LX608A is the best plasma around right now. While you certainly pay a hefty price if you can afford it, this TV will handle both high- and standard-definition content perfectly.

Sony KDL-W3100 Series TV(40",46",52")

Sony Bravia KDL52W3100

By Chris Jager

Mammoth 52in screen, masterful colour reproduction and sharp picture, three HDMI ports

Occasional noise, minor ghosting issues during gaming

While $5999 isn't exactly a steal, the KDL52W3100 remains one of the best valued 52in LCD displays on the market.

Beyonwiz DP-H1

beyonwiz DP-H1

By Ben Russell

Dual HD tuners, simple recording, great range of supported file types, USB hard disk drive-based nature gives flexibility

No customisable recording modes, hidden cost with USB hard disk drive required to record

A great product, although ultimately its usefulness hinges on the use of a USB hard disk drive instead of an internal one. If this appeals to you, then the DP-H1 is well worth considering.

GeCube Radeon HD2600 PRO

UVD chip, HDMI output, OC edition

Gaming performance

Although this card won't suit heavy gamers, it will suit casual gamers and is fine for running Windows Vista and watching movies with, plus the price is right.

Sapphire Radeon HD 2400 XT

Sapphire Radeon HD 2400 XT

By Robin Morris (PC World)

Quiet operation, fast clock and memory speeds, 40 stream processors

Only has a 64-bit memory bus, sluggish performance

If all you want is a card that'll make a nice job of displaying video, the 2400 XT is a pretty solid bet. It's quite pretty and, best of all, extremely quiet. However, it isn't even able to match the slightly lacklustre performance of the 8500 GT.

If you can handle having a poor battery life and a slightly slow menu, the Samsung A801 offers a great Next G compatible phone with a stylish, slim design.

Asus EN8600GT

ASUS EN8600GT OC Gear

By Elias Plastiras (PC World)

Fast default performance, runs quietly

OC Gear's interface lacks read-outs for temperature and speed, relying instead on indicator lights

Overall, the EN8600GT, with the OC Gear module, offers a convenient way to overclock and monitor your card's performance, but it costs $50 more than ASUS' regular EN8600GT graphics card. The extra cost, and only very slight performance advantages when ove...
