These tiny speakers deliver big boom to small rooms.
Amazing low-end frequency response from very small boxes; Kevlar woofers and silk drivers; MDF cabinets.
Lacks two of the best features found on the Audioengine A5; amp is adequate only for near-field listening or small rooms.
If you think deploying a subwoofer is a prerequisite to obtaining big-time bass, you haven€™t heard Audioengine€™s A5 speakers. And if you€™re convinced you need huge cabinets for thumping bass, you haven€™t heard the company€™s new diminutive A2 sys
Amazing sound in a tiny form-factor. No subwoofer necessary.
Lacks the front-mounted volume control and USB port charger of the A5.
The A2€™s cabinets are about one-third the size of the A5€™s, which means they€™ll fit just about anywhere, and they feature an absolutely luscious black lacquer-like finish that reminds us of a concert grand piano. The drawback to the glamour is that
The Soundcast OutCast Outdoor Speaker provides boom for your outdoor room - no strings attached.
Dead simple; plenty of volume, good streaming range. Weatherized.
Controls are iPod-specific (but it does accept line-in); no display; expensive.

Powerful amp; USB port for syncing to iTunes.
Bass lacks oomph; could use S-Video. Not worth $500.
), and the thundering piano cadence at the song€™s climax was enough to drive me out of my media room

These tiny tots deliver mighty sound.
Clean sound; bi-amplified; independently powered; Kevlar woofers and silk tweeters produce beautiful sound.
Expensive. We could use a bit more bass.
Jabra's S5010 speaker dock will knock your socks off--or at least one.
Works smoothly with almsot any music device
Stereo jack block-age when USB is in use
We weren€™t surprised that the €œU€ in Yamaha€™s NX-U10 portable speaker system stands for €œUSB,€ but we were taken aback to discover that these tiny speakers can tap a USB port for power as well as digital audio. Click Read More for more.
Can draw power from USB; tight sound, good bass.
Distortion at high levels; USB power can limit volume; pricy.
We connected the diminutive speaker to both USB and analog audio output (the 1/8-inch stereo connector renders the system MP3-player friendly) and were surprised by how tight it all sounded. Yamaha developed a new means of reproducing bass for the NX-U10...
A faint grey lining mars these blue skies.
Plenty of inputs & outputs; wired controller.
Chuffy subwoofer.
The best subwoofer we've ever tested.
Good looks, unparalleled sound - loud and tight.
Pricey. But not necessarily overpriced.
Attention speakerphiles: the M-Audio Studiophile AV 40 Speaker System is super. Kind of. .
Delivers full spectrum of sound.
Delivers distracting funky buzz, too.
