As you'd expect, the ASUS ENGTX280 doesn't perform quite as well as its overclocked sibling, the ASUS ENGTX280 TOP, but if you look at their price/performance ratios, though, the two are in a virtual dead heat. Unfortunately for ASUS, the Diamond Radeon H...
1GB of video memory.
Expensive. Trails the much cheaper Diamond Radeon HD 4870 in some game tests.
The ASUS ENGTX280 has a high-end price, but the Diamond Radeon HD 4870 might be a better card unless you need its larger frame buffer.
The Diamond Radeon HD 4870, which is driven by an ATI GPU, gives impressive performance for a sub-$300 graphics card.
9.5 inch length fits in most cases; good price/performance ratio and overall good performance.
Not the fastest card you can get. "Only" 512MB of video memory (albeit fast video memory.)
The Diamond Radeon HD 4870 is nearly as fast as competing graphics cards, yet more affordable.

Right now, the ASUS EN280GTX TOPthe overclocked version of the ASUS ENGTX280 (the two cards look identical except for a sticker on the TOP version)represents the fastest single-GPU card you can buy.
Fastest single GPU gaming card we've seen yet. 1GB of video memory.
Expensive. May be too long, at 10.5 inches, for some cases.
You want the fastest single GPU card you can get? This is it.
transistors. That's how big the GTX 200 GPU at the heart of Nvidia's new high-end graphics cards is. To put that in perspective, Intel's latest 45nm quad-core CPUs with 12MB of cache is about 820 million transistors-70% less.
Fastest card in its class by a mile, good power use for high-end graphics, no 8-pin PCIe power plug required.
Very Fastest card in its class by a mile, good power use for high-end graphics, no 8-pin PCIe power plug required.
Worth every penny, even with its single flaw, this case and power supply make a terrific enclosure for most general-purpose systems.

Fastest card on the market, relatively low idle power use.
Very expensive, high power use under load, requires a 6-pin and 8-pin power connector.

By our count, Nvidia and its add-in board partners offer no less than five designs based around the company's G92 GPU: the 8800 GS, 8800 GT, 8800 GTS 512MB, 9800 GX2, and 9800 GTX-and that's not even counting memory variants. That's a lot of seemingly dif...
Overclocked performance at a lower price.
Extended warranty requires product registration. No trade up program.
It's still got a high end price, but isn't quite as fast as the BFG card, but still faster than stock cards.

Fastest single GPU gaming card you can get. Great warranty. Useful trade up program.
Expensive. Uses more power than stock cards.
You want the fastest single GPU card you can get? You want multiple displays? Then this is the card you want.
The price and performance of graphics cards based on the G92 GPU from Nvidia has been fantastic-from its debut in the GeForce 8800 GT to the ill-named replacement for G80-based 8800 GTS cards (also called the GeForce 8800 GTS), to the SLI-on-a-stick GeFor...
Maybe the fastest single-GPU card on the market?
But only barely faster than a less expensive model, and not nearly as fast as two cards of the same total price.
If you really want to do triple-SLI or use HybridPower on a high-end card, this is your only option. Otherwise, there are more economical or better-performing cards.
with every detail turned up. He or she may be thrifty or may spend a ton of money, but cards that fit this need typically costs at least $150.
Affordable, small, quiet, and power-efficient. Good video decoding features.
Not fast enough to run modern games the way they were meant to be played.
One of the better sub-$100 graphics cards, but it's still not good enough to make a cheap PC into a good gaming system. As a replacement for integrated graphics, it comes highly recommended.
