Madden NFL 09

From more realistic offense to better weather effects, the latest Madden showcases the biggest improvement in gridiron gameplay in years.

Graphics overhaul showcases richer detail than ever in player models and stadiums. Improved weather effects. Better tackling system finally allows offensive runners to break tackles. Improved fumble recovery.

All quarterbacks are too accurate and too similar. AI displays buggy behavior at times. Online league system lacks divisions, and uses a ladder system instead.

Nitpicks aside, Madden NFL 09 has gone through both a visual and gameplay makeover that will have you spending countless hours (both online and offline) on the virtual gridiron.

T-Mobile @Home

T-Mobile @Home

By Sascha Segan

Looking for a dirt-cheap home phone? T-Mobile's service offers $10 unlimited monthly calls within the U.S.

Very inexpensive. Good call quality. Simple to set up.

Requires T-Mobile cell-phone service. The required router is outdated. High international rates. No solution for faxes or home security systems.

Extremely basic. This home VoIP service requires you to switch your cell phone over to T-Mobile's service, but $10 for unlimited monthly calls within the U.S. is an unheard-of deal.

Spore

Spore

By Brian Heater

Saying that Spore is addictive is a gross understatement: The game grabs you with a pair of newly evolved talons and won't let go.

Incredibly deep and immersive. Broad range of gameplay. Fully imagined and extremely customizable elements and worlds.

Aspects of gameplay can become repetitive. Watch DL.TV's Spore Video Review!

Grand Theft Auto IV

Grand Theft Auto IV

By Crispin Boyer

Game setting is richer than ever. New multimedia features including in-game Internet, e-mail and cable TV. Clever missions.

Missing some of the zanier toys from "San Andreas."

Grand Theft Auto IV is more immersive than ever with an engaging storyline, upgraded multimedia elements, and a dynamic setting where anything can happen. Videogame worlds just don't get this deep.

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn

We Got Game

By Neil J. Rubenking and Sophie Rubenking

I've played other Fire Emblem games before, so I had high expectations for this one. Happily, my expectations were met. Generally, I like almost any game where you do things to gain experience and then level up. It provides a nice feeling of satisfaction....

Bleach: Shattered Blade

We Got Game

By Neil J. Rubenking and John Rubenking

Bleach: Shattered Blade is awesome. The game format is hack and slash, and it makes very good use of the Wiimote with nunchuk. The nunchuk is used to build up special energies, while the Wiimote is used for pretty much all of the hacking and slashing. As...

Nintendo Naruto: C.o.Ninja Revolution

We Got Game

By Brian K. Neal

GameCube control options are available as well. My only gripe with the game is that there is no 16:9 aspect support, a bummer for any Wii title. However, this doesn't overshadow the game's solid fighting mechanics. Overall, Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revoluti...
