Evolution not revolution is the name of the Xbox Elite's game with an HDMI-out and bigger hard-drive the bait for anyone who managed to resist the original's charms
Better value than Premium. Big hard drive. New HDMI connection. Smart paint job
Premium is getting an HDMI connection too. Doesn't include HD-DVD drive
Games, games, games
Dirt cheap. The last few games are awesome. Er, it's quite small?
No HD. Very last-gen. Online is rubbish
Preview: It's lost a third of its body weight, boosted its battery life and has faster load times. But can the PSP mark II hunt down that pesky DS Lite?
Smaller and lighter. Increased battery life. Video out. Better loading times
No internal flash memory. New colours not coming to UK
Preview: With the pesky PS3 hogging the limelight, Microsoft has powered up the Xbox 360, sprayed it black and given it a cool new name. Meet the Elite
New HDMI output. Bigger 120GB hard-drive. Smart paint job
Still no built-in Wi-Fi. HD-DVD only available through add-on
It's here. At last. How can the PS3 possibly live up to our ridiculously high expectations? By being the best games console and media hub ever...
Stunning 1080p games. Best Blu-ray player yet. Free online gaming.
No hi-def upscaling for old DVDs and games. Controllers don't have force feedback.
Nintendo's little white box is determined to inject fun back into gaming ' but can it overcome the might of the PS3 and Xbox 360's next-gen power?
The most fun gaming experience ever. Motion-sensitivity better than PS3's tilt joypad. Great price. Sega classics available to download online.
Basic, standard-def graphics. No multiplayer online gaming. Not all games suit the format. No DVD playback.
An old favourite gets a slimline revamp, and with a gargantuan catalogue of stonking games, who are we to dismiss it?
Ace new design and super-skinny size. Network capabilities built-in. Huge catalogue of great games.
Can't compete graphically with the Xbox 360. Only two controller ports.
The original DS was a bit lardy but this is a leaner, meaner addiction inducing portable console
Small and light. Attractive design. Innovative games.
Not powerful or high-resolution. Childish images.
Nuvo does some clever things but nothing to warrant his near vertical price tag
Neat back flips pleasing on the eye. Better than an imaginary friend but you'll still have to use your imagination to fully enjoy his companionship.
Paltry two hour battery life. Not very energetic or exciting.

Sod waiting for the PS3 ' this is a true gaming and media 360 degree revolution and it's here now
Xbox Live content is second to none. Easy to use. As games consoles go, it's a bit of a looker.
Hardware isn't awesome. Wi-Fi not built-in. No upscaling on DVDs.
