The USB modem looks similar to a USB stick or a WiFi dongle
The various 'dongles' on offer are all manufactured by Huawei, a company that currently appears to be the leading supplier of USB modems. Vodafone, O2 and Orange all use its devices for their respective mobile internet packages

We found signal strength was excellent when using this antenna
Consistently strong signal; Can be stuck anywhere
Tricky to set up; Need to buy a plug-in wireless adapter
If your router is stored in a separate room and you need a stronger signal, Hawking's Hi-Gain Windows Antenna is a potential solution. It's not without problems, however, and it's frustrating that you'll also have to buy a plug-in wireless adapter

Ooh, look at the pretty lights! Actually theyre LEDs, and were afraid their usefulness is limited here
Easy to use; Small and lightweight
Doesn't feel very sturdy; Could do with an LCD screen instead of LEDs; Doesn't support Wireless N networks
There's undoubted potential here, but it remains unfulfilled in this incarnation. An LCD display showing network names and security status would be much more useful for finding hotspots, for example. Detecting sources of interference is a good idea, but t...

The best games PC we've ever seen, GeForce 8800GTX plus a plethora of other great components
Monitor could be a touch bigger
But no. And neither is the performance. At the panel's 1,280x1,024 optimal resolution, you get 64FPS in Oblivion with all the shiny wound up, 12,119 in 3DMark06, and a stammerinducing 194FPS in Half-Life 2: Episode 1. This rig reduces games that have been...

The mDMS is actually a fairly potent little device
Compact design, Impressive specification, Integral TV tuner
Obscure driver set, Can run rather hot, Problematic DVI port
Some would argue that you'd usually only use S-Video for a media centre, but with HDTV well and truly on the march (and a chip that can handle it included in this slimline box of delights), you'd expect your media box to pump out the required pixels. Hope...

On paper, the Manfrotto Digi Mini looks like the perfect solution
Light and compact, Very easy to operate, Excellent rigidity
Could be a bit more versatile
It's not the most versatile tripod we've tested, but the Manfrotto 718B is well made, easy to understand and use and performs extremely well for its size, price and weight. It's an exceptional package

GTSecurikeyâ-'s one weakness has been taken away in 2.0 by the use of encyption
128-bit encryption option; Price has come down; Adds a layer of data protection; Comes with spare key
Rocky installation process; Need to buy from the US
Two identical keys come with the Pro edition: lose them and you'll need to contact Griffin and buy a replacement dongle. The company will only send them to registered users

We wouldn't use this just for home cinema, but joystick-twiddlers will love the new dimension it adds to gaming

The sprung hinge that allows 3.5-inch drives to slot in has a notch to support 2.5-inch drives
Easy; Cheap; Supports 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch drives; Includes USB cable
No support for IDE drives; Poor power/activity light
This isn't a product that will sell in its thousands, but as a way of quickly mounting SATA drives, it's peerless
