Recently we managed to get our reviewing mitts on the Thermalright HR-05 chipset cooler, that managed to combine a low price with better-than-stock cooling, but had an awkward fan size (70mm) and fiddly mounting system
This heatsink does exactly what it sets out to do; cool. It does the job well, and it can be run easily in either passive or active forms
Graphics card cooling is a continually expanding market as more and more people are turned on to the fact that better cooling on your GPU not only means improved temperatures and therefore maybe a better overclock, but they are usually a lot quieter too....
Quiet, , ,
Damages Hardware - Stripped resistor from board, Compatibility list is laughable and misleading, Cooler doesn't fit on cards that it should, 2pin power cable doesn't fit
I hate to end a review like this as I don't have any performance numbers to use as a basis for a "should you buy this product" conclusion. However, I can without doubt say that this is a very poorly put together product. On the right card it might cool ve...

The last time I was privileged enough to get my mitts on some Noctua branded fans, I had to make up a new word to describe how quiet they were
It's incredible the volume that this fan produces and equally incredible when you see not only the airflow figures but the static pressures. It obvious that this fan has been designed for watercooling setups where static pressure plays a large role

We have tested several of ZEROtherm's coolers in the past, with some of their GPU offerings proving to be well worth a buy. Today we have something that's designed to deal with the 8800 series' inefficient, noisy, stock cooler; The Hurricane HC92
Cools well, Included fan controller, Funky green heatsinks
Cooler is quite ugly, especially without the shroud, Temperature reductions aren't amazing at low speeds, Noisy at high speeds
The Hurricane HC-92 is a relatively effective and versatile cooler. It lets you choose the fan speed with the included fan controller which gives you the option of having a noisy, well cooled GPU, or a silent reasonably well cooled one. It's let down a bi...

Heatsinks for modern processors are slowly getting bigger and bigger, in fact many are too big to fit in a standard case. There is an obvious limit on the amount of metal that you can strap to your core before limitations creep in (motherboard component c...
I went into this review thinking that it would be a sure-fire Extreme award product. Unfortunately, after the day of testing, I was left wanting. It would be easy to pass this domed base off as a manufacturing one-off but the Ultra eXtreme also showed the...

While CPU's are continuing to get more and more power efficient and cooler, the heatsinks that are strapped on top continue to get larger. The current trend seems to be large, tower heatsinks with plenty of heatpipes sending heat to the fins. Today I have...
Excellent temperatures, Near silent operation, Easy installation
Very expensive, ,
There is literally nothing wrong with this cooler " excellent temperatures, easy install and silent operation " that is until you come to the price. It retails for £50 which is a fair ol" amount of beer money. Considering as the Coolink Silentator isn't f

Noctua pride themselves on quality, quiet cooling solutions, and they do a damn good job. Today I have chassis cooling, the NH-S12 or a 120mm fan to the rest of us
