We've reviewed other digital photo frames in the past, but this is the first one we've seen from SmartParts and certainly the first one we've seen to include a built-in dye-sublimation printer. It's an interesting concept, but $300 is a lot to spend on wh...
Vibrant screen resolution, print order queue, all-inclusive infrared remote.
Large footprint, no touch screen, counterintuitive button layout, USB 1.1, meager memory capacity, lacks hardware features commonly found on digital photo frames; expensive cartridges.
The SmartParts SP8PRT's laundry list of negatives far outweighs the positives, proving that some devices just aren't meant to be hybridized. If you simply must have both digital photo frame and a printer, do yourself a favor--stay away from this toy and p...
Pandigital, a veteran digital photo-frame maker, is doing its best to stand out from the competition by incorporating a variation of the familiar touch-screen interface in its new line of PanTouch digital photo frames. You might call it touch screen "lite...
PanTouch interface offers a degree of convenience over using traditional buttons; bright, sharp 8-inch diagonal display; 512MB of built-in memory, plus slots for virtually all memory card types, as well as USB connectivity for digital cameras, computers,...
Design is a bit generic looking; the built-in speakers sound tinny; the frame is interchangeable, but no additional frames are included.
While the Pandigital 8-inch PanTouch's new interface doesn't make a huge difference, the frame is a generally solid choice with an attractive feature set.
Unless you've been tracking the rise of digital photo frames, you probably haven't heard of Pandigital. The company has been around since 1998, but since digital frames haven't really come into their own until the last couple of years, the brand is only n...
With its large, 15-inch screen and relatively inexpensive price tag, this Pandigital should garner a lot of attention. Its 1024x768-pixel resolution, memory card slots, 256MB of built-in flash memory, USB connectivity for thumbdrives, and direct connectio...
Numerous AVI and MPEG videos that we created with digital still cameras wouldn't play on the frame, and the built-in speakers are tinny, so you shouldn't count on it to listen to music, but it'll do in a pinch.
The Pandigital is nice for displaying your photos, but you shouldn't count on it for video playback.

Earlier this year we reviewed Kodak's EX-811 8-inch digital photo with built-in wireless connectivity and were generally very impressed with the product. More recently, Kodak sent us over a review sample of the larger, 10-inch model in the same series, th...
Built-in wireless connectivity enables you to tap into your home wireless network and stream images from your Windows PC or the Kodak EasyShare Gallery online photo-sharing service. The frame has a bright, relatively sharp 10-inch diagonal display, 128MB...
Fairly pricey; the built-in speakers sound very tinny; and when transferring photos to the display's internal memory, images aren't automatically resized to the size of the display to reduce file sizes. Music playback controls could be more straightforwar...
Kodak's Wi-Fi-enabled EX-1011 offers the same strong feature set, good image quality, and online integration with the company's free EasyShare Gallery online photo-sharing service as its highly rated 8-inch brother, the EX-811--but the EX-1011's bigger sc...
We've had high expectations for Kodak's EX-811 8-inch digital photo frame ever since we got wind that the frame would have built-in wireless connectivity that would allow you to tap into your Windows PC, and more importantly, the Kodak's EasyShare Gallery...

The built-in speakers sound very tinny; when transferring photos to the display's internal memory, images aren't automatically resized to the size of the display to reduce file sizes. Music playback controls could be more straightforward.
While it has a few minor flaws, Kodak's Wi-Fi-enabled EX-811's strong feature set, good image quality, and online integration with the company's free EasyShare Gallery online photo-sharing service, make this frame a top choice in the digital photo frame c...
When Samsung enters a new market, you expect big things, but it's actually gone small with its first foray into the North American digital photo frame market. The company's SPF-72H is a 7-inch frame with a fairly basic feature set that's highlighted by 12...
Attractively designed digital picture frame; decent image quality; relatively inexpensive; USB connectivity for cameras and thumbdrives; 128MB of built-in memory along with slots for SD/MMC, Memory Stick, and XD cards. Also, the firmware is upgradeable an...
No support for compact flash cards; interface could be more intuitive; screen is pretty small; Samsung logo seems a bit large compared to frame size.
Samsung's 7-inch photo frame will look good on your desk at work--and offers good picture quality--but it's a fairly basic frame from a features standpoint.
We hadn't heard about Pandigital digital photo frames until a public relations representative contacted us about reviewing a model, but it turns out Pandigital photo frames are widely available at major retailers, and the 8-inch model reviewed here is an...

The built-in speakers sound very tinny; when transferring photos to the display's internal memory, images aren't automatically resized to the size of the display to reduce file sizes; and the interchangeable frames aren't as easy to swap on and off as the...
The Pandigital 8-inch digital photo frame may not have built-in Wi-Fi, but it does deliver a pretty sharp-looking picture, has a fairly straightforward interface, and support for video and audio playback, which makes it an all-around solid digital photo f...
You may know the Royal brand from typewriters and paper shredders, but you probably didn't realize the company is now making digital photo frames. Yes, Royal's serving up several "budget" models, including the PF80, which sports an 8-inch screen (measured...
This inexpensive digital photo frame offers a large 8-inch display, is easy to set up, and can display JPEG images and certain AVI video files stored on various types of memory cards. It's also wall-mountable and comes with a remote that allows you to con...
The frame appears to have speakers, but it isn't capable of producing sound. While the outer frame is removable, no extra frames ship with the product. We had trouble playing some AVI video files, and there's no internal memory.
Not a bad digital photo frame for those on a tight budget, but by failing to include sound, Royal missed an opportunity to take the PF80 to the next level.

Attractive real-wood frame; nice-looking display; motion sensor automatically turns frame on and off.
Slow downloads; most transition effects do not operate smoothly; very small remote control; only a 90-day warranty.
In spite of some performance issues, the Smartparts SPX12 is a good-looking digital picture frame that for the most part lives up to its claim of making it easy to transfer photos from a memory card to the frame with almost no effort.
