Meet a new CPU cooling solution from Thermalright. We are going to compare its thermal and acoustic characteristics against seven top air coolers from such well-known manufacturers as Scythe, Thermaltake, Zalman and Enzotech. Guess who the winner will be!...
The Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme is the best air cooler I have ever tested in the total of its characteristics. When cooling an overclocked quad-core CPU it is only second to the Enzotech Ultra-X, but the difference is negligible. And the Ultra-120 eXtr...
They added two more heatpipes to the Ultra 120 and renamed it the Ultra 120 eXtreme. Did this simple modification improve the already excellent performance of one of the biggest tower heatsinks around?

Expensive, Expensive
Thermalright does not ship a fan with their products, which increases its total ownership cost, but most silencers will want to pick their own anyway. Keep in mind the fan should come with open corners for the Thermalright fan clips to hook onto — otherw...
While CPU's are continuing to get more and more power efficient and cooler, the heatsinks that are strapped on top continue to get larger. The current trend seems to be large, tower heatsinks with plenty of heatpipes sending heat to the fins. Today I have...
Excellent temperatures, Near silent operation, Easy installation
Very expensive, ,
There is literally nothing wrong with this cooler " excellent temperatures, easy install and silent operation " that is until you come to the price. It retails for £50 which is a fair ol" amount of beer money. Considering as the Coolink Silentator isn't f...
It does not fit well in my apevia full tower, and i dislike the monting bracket, but for cooling linked with a 120mm fan it rocks. the cores never go over 41 degrees C, even when maxed out a little over an hour straight
Very fast cooling, cools moy overclocked dual core intel conroe beautifully, from 2.66 to 3.4 ghz per core.
the mounting bracket allows the unit to turm when you push it
I bought this for my Q6600. It works so well that you could use it w/o a fan or thermal compound--with well ventilated case, of course. It's that good. This is the best as far as air cooling is concerned. The only problem I had with it was during installa...
This is the best as far as air cooling is concerned.
The instruction diagrams are unclear.
Even though it has some cons because of it's size, weight and LGA775 bracket, I'd still highly recommend this heat sink, for superior cooling w/120mm fan. Running Q6600 oc to 3.4Ghz at 1.3v I idle at 27C. Running four instances of Prime95 stressing the cp...
Superior cooling, top of the line heatsink. Used on socket LGA775, back plate lined up perfectly.
Need to remove motherboard to install back plate. Had to slightly turn head sink to clear north bridge heat sink on ABIT IP35 Pro motherboard. Even after screws are tight heat sink can be turned with little effort. LGA775 bracket could have fit heat sink
